This is a good article on cardiac cirrhosis. There is a connection to congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension and constrictive heart disease. It is something to be aware of for those who are into "advanced" cardiology--beyond cardiology 101 :) .

I read this Nancy, and I guess I'm going to have to become more proficient in Cardiology 201!

I didn't realize until Bob-husband- mentioned it that the blood work being run Wednesday checks for BMP and magnesium. Dumb me; I didn't even look at it!

And, after two days of 20 mg lasix, I have lost 7 and a half pounds. I guess I WAS retaining fluid.

Well, you know what the BNP is for, and Joe's magnesium goes up when his kidneys are stressed.

It gets so amzingly complicated after a while, doesn't it?

Great news about losing the water.

A gallon of water weighs 8 and a third pounds. So you MUST be feeling better!

Joe takes 320mg Lasix and 100mg Aldactone every day, and even then it sometimes can't keep up. Right now, he's on some Zaroxolyn too, plus the salt-free diet.
