Hi I just got my echocardiogram results from last week and I don't see my cardiologist until next week. I am reading this and getting nervous. I had minimally invasive mitral valve repair 15 months ago and I had a LVEF between 55% and 65% and it is now between 40 to 45%. Also, it shows mild to moderate mitral valve regurgitation. I hope someone can share their knowledge or results and calm me down. Thank you so much.

I can't of much help here, but I suspect that if this was an emergent problem - something that needed immediate attention - your doctor would have insisted on an immediate consultation with a cardiologist or cardiac surgeon.

Doctors (usually) don't let bad things sit too long.

I’ve had mod-severe mitral regurgitation for 17 years now (developed after a repair to address mitral stenosis) with no action needed and no impact on my life whatsoever. I’m confused about what other number you’re concerned about?

Thank you very much for your comment on the regurgitation after your surgery. That information helps me feel better about this latest echo report. I see my cardiologist on Friday.
