I posted this earlier today with a really stupid title. No wonder no one responded! Here is the question again:

I have in front of me my echo report from yesterday, and also the report from my last echo in January.

Both tests show no evidence of constriction or effusion, so that's the good news.

In January my ascending aorta diameter had a "value" of 27. Now my ascending aorta diameter "value" is 29.

Does anyone know if this is a normal variation, or an indication of growth?

If it's 27 and 29 mm, I wouldn't worry about it. Echo's are only good for +- 5%. That's actually smaller than the Medtronic Freestyle ascending aorta they put in me. It is 33mm. My native aortic root was 57mm before it was time for surgery. Go have fun, I don't think you have a problem. If you do your cardio will discuss it with you! :)

I agree with David. If you went from 27 to 35, now I think I'd want some other type of test to confirm it. A 2mm difference could simply be the way your body habitus was laying.
