Hi

My Aorta has gone from 38 to 40 in a year, is this an average size growth.

Thanks

Alis

Hi Alis,

I don't have research on that at the moment. But I can share that they first alerted me about my aorta when it was, I believe 4.1 cm in 2009. Mine grew to 4.9+ by 2016 when I had surgery.

Is that for high blood pressure as mines always low when checked

Thanks

Alis

the thing is that depending on how this was determined (and how many points of data you have historically) its entirely possible that its unchanged (with error playing a part in the measurements).

Its not any sort of worrysome level though:

and

...When an aneurysm reaches 5.5 cms most surgeons would consider offering surgical intervention. This is because, at this size, the aneurysm has a greater risk of rupture.
