The newer generation tissue valves are being said to last from 14 to 20 years, but obviously, they haven't been out there long enough to really tell. I know they're treating the valves, but whether Porcine will last as long as bovine, I'm not at all sure. Someone who's up on the tissue scene, like tobagotwo, would probably be better at answering this question.

It should also be mentioned that the longevity of the tissue valve is also affected by the age of the recipient. Younger adults go through tissue valves more quickly than people in their 60's and beyond, which is the typical average age for the longevity studies. Just something to keep in mind depending on what age you are right now.
