Seems like May 3,2016 when I was going into the operating room.Everyday is a miracle to be alive.
Im still getting use to my valve ticking fast.scares me at times.
cant believe it's 18 months!

Trina congratulations on your milestone! My one year was November 1st and I remember that operating room well and agree about the miracle we have gotten.

I have a mechanical valve and had echos done at Mayo right after surgery. Fast forward 6 months for next echo. My cardiologist said my heart seemed to be ticking a bit fast but he said the only way to know for sure would be at next echo as they use the six montht one as kind of a baseline.

I had follow up echo this last Tuesday and tech did share with me that this one was about the same as last one, thus making me think this will be my new "normal"

Congratulations Trina........it only gets better. We all become much more aware of our hearts after surgery.
