It has been awhile since I have posted, but today is the 14th Anniversary of my Mitral Valve Repair. My last annual Cardio check up was in November and everything is still running fine. My surgeon Dr. Tirone David has retired as a surgeon but is still continuing research and I have agreed to continue to have my annual check up with my Cardiologist be part of it.

I know mitral valve repairs are supposed to last indefinitely (the last research I saw said something like 5% rate of need for reoperation over 20 years), but it's good to hear from a real example. Congratulations on your continued good health!

Good news, Wayne!

And, good to see/hear from you again. It has been a while, but we always appreciate it when the "old-timers" stop in to let the newer folk know how things are going. It helps them to realize that there really is life after valve surgery.
