If you are interested in the exact figure, you can do an advanced search by going to the "options" section and selecting "joint date". With these parameters the search will order the member list in the order they joined.:smile2:

Fifty-one Years and Counting - Remembering you Mr Admunson, 21 September, 1960

Actually Dick, your S-E valve is not one of the kind that Admundson had and that difference probably why you are doing so well today. The first valves to be implanted were really prototype valves that were rushed in to production because the need for them was a matter of life and death. One of...

    warfarin and side effectts

Exactly- association does mean causation. No study exist which proves warfarin cause calcification, period! I have been on warfarin longer than anybody else that I know of and my bone scan came back normal.

    Warfarin drug alternative

Like my junior(:biggrin2:), Dick here states, it will be awhile before another drug replaces the miracle drug warfarin:angel: for valves. Maybe sooner for DVT or joint replacement, but not valves. Warfarin was discovered and has been in use for over seventy years with no serious competition...

    Dr. Viking Olov Björk 12/3/1918-2/18/2009

My personal thoughts My personal thoughts Reading about Dr. Bjork above, it saddens me that people only know of him by the failed heart valve, rather then the volume of his life’s work that helped to save so many people. The vast majority of his valves, even the failed CC version, kept and is...

    "Blood thinner" origin??

How does a thread change from from idiot to cat? How does a thread change from from idiot to cat? So strange! From one who actually was taking warfarin in the early years:;) Little was known about the algorithm of the coagulation cascade (the process by which normal...

Memorials/funerals ... to attend or not to attend

Ditto, Ditto, I would just rather sit alone and honor my lost love one by thinking about them and remember how really neat they were. This way I never forget them. I still think of friends I lost in my childhood, my parents, the pts. who died in the early years when so many were lost. I even...

    Introduction

Ditto Ditto kismet, Did the nurse give you written orders, because you may have misunderstood the nurse. They more likey meant hold for one day only, then retest on Monday (meaning you would resume you normal dose today, Sunday and Monday, it is very important to be precise!) . While I...

    Friends OHS

Absolutely Marty! Absolutely Marty! The founder of Mended Hearts was Chief of Cardiology at that hospital for most of the last half of the 20th century almost till his death in 1993. He also did the first heart valve replacement there. Who was that surgeon? Dr. Dwight E. Harken. Now can...
