    Surgery is coming soon

Good morning all. Here I am wide awake at 0400 thinking about a phone call from my cardio a few days ago. I have been having some trouble with blood pressure (now stabile) recently and my cardio ordered an echo because he wanted to check my aorta. In the 4 months since my last echo, my valve...

    Blood pressure!

Hello to all. My blood pressure has been increasing over the last couple of years, in spite the fact that I exercise. My diet is consistently inconsistent in that I eat a wide variety of foods. I am working with a wellness coach to find some strategies that work for me to get more protein into...

    11 year anniversary 03/19/15

Greetings, all. Yesterday marked my 11 year anniversary with my homograft. I have had a relatively easy 11 years. I really need to get in touch with Dr. David McGiffin and thank him again :) He's now retired and living back in Australia - good for him! His standard line to me while I was in...

Ingredients: 1lb hulled strawberies, sliced 1 large seedless cucumber, sliced 2 tbs balsamic vinegar (I'm using black mission fig infused vinegar) 2 tbs local honey a little kosher...

    Confusing appointment today

I had my annual Echo on 11/10 and saw my doc today to get the results. I don't have my copy of the echo report yet but he told me my AVA is 1.0cm, my EF is 50%, and that my valve problems are moderate to severe. I asked him for a reasonable expectation of when I need to have surgery and he said...

    BAV and blood pressure

I went for my yearly Echo this past Monday and my tech, who is coincidentally my sister-in-law, got a little excited because my BP was really elevated for me. It was 140/90. I know that my valve has been moderately leaky and that I am approaching surgery time. I'll find out tomorrow at the...

    Good checkup -

I got the reading of my last echo today. Great news, the homograft is still going strong. There have been some changes over last year, but overall pretty good. My AI was considered mild in Oct. 2009 and is considered mild to moderate as of Oct. 2010. I'll take that! :tongue2:

Raverlaw & Brian? Anyone hear from them?

Bill & Brian had surgery around the same time I did in 2004. Have they wandered away like I did for a while...umm, a few years? I was deeply saddened to see that Bonnie passed away. Now those fellas are on my mind. Lisa
