    Anti-coagulating with torn meniscus

Quincy - I don't know what it was that day….but the range is 2.0-3.0. I followed my surgeon’s advice. Mine was arthroscopic procedure clearing out a lot of damaged cartilage and scar tissue. If it was was a full knee replacement or a more complex procedure, I would imagine the surgeon advice...

What home testing service do you use?

The company providing the supplies monitors the results and the results are also sent to your cardiologist in my case. You will or do know how to adjust your blood thinner dosage that can be confirmed by either using algorithms or by your monitoring doctor. I have been self monitoring for over 5...

    Anti-coagulating with torn meniscus

I underwent this surgery and my surgeon discussed the risks of a bleed which he considered not significant. The surgery was completed without a change in my warfarin therapy. Best of luck to you on your journey.

Migraine aura anyone? Or does the cheese stand alone?

Absolutely - 11+ years out and still they come. Bright sun, fluorescent lights, road glare seem to be the triggers. I get my sunglasses with maximum darkness and use them religiously. Florescent lights in stores sometimes make me dizzy as well.

    Dropping a line

Going through that process is inhumane. I have successfully been through it with a family member that should have been a slam dunk in my opinion. I am pleased to hear your results.

    Weird feelins/sensations

I am much more emotional after going through my AVR about 5 1/2 years ago. I figured when they cut through some many nerve bundles, etc. it is just one of the many side effects. Certain doctor shows on TV are just a little too much so I turn the channel. I thought these feelings would subside...

    Vision problems post-op?

I was diagnosed with these occasional occular migranes after my surgery and have experienced the curtain/obscured vision about four times in the 2.5 years since my surgery. I was told that these matters were related to the major surgery that your body endured and may be brought on by changes in...

I think my GI will want a colonoscopy...anyone with experience want to weigh in?

I just had my first one two months ago. My cardio told me that some GIs do it with it and some do not and the decision is the GI's since they are the one performing the procedure. My GI doctor said to let me on the coumadin but did tell me if they found something signifiacnt, they would hold...
