    Carda Health

I had my mitral valve replacement in 2005 and everything there is fine. What isn't fine is my emphysema. I see a lot of ads for Carda Health which seems to be a lot more proactive than the service my insurance (medicare advantage) enrolled me in. Has anyone had experience with Cardo Health?

What happened to the In Memoriam thread?

I've been a member since 2005 - kind of dropped off after a few years. I started receiving emails not too long ago and check the forums every now and then. I miss that thread - always hoping not to see familiar names.

Maybe home testing will become commonplace

Picked up my warfarin refills at Walgreen's today. Included in my bag was an ad (printed like a coupon - but no discount!). It asks, "Want anticoagulation monitoring on your terms?" Then goes on to describe the CoaguChek XS and provides a phone number and website: www.testyourinr.com This seems...

    Alsosalt

Bought some Heinz ketchup recently - no salt added. Turns out it contains Alsosalt. Ahh, I can eat McDonald fries again with ketchup and only get one hefty dose of salt. :biggrin2: For those on low sodium diet you might want to check this out: www.alsosalt.com

    How Time Flies...

Just realized that my valve & I have been together for 5 years as of May 16. I'm really grateful that everything worked out for me... I'm especially grateful that I was able to find a job (after 10 months of being unemployed) that offered outstanding health benefits. Other than having to foot...

    Did we misplace someone?

I was looking at some old threads today and realized that I haven't seen Jeannette (netmiff) for a while. 'Course it's hard to tell since we had to leave the Feb. posts behind, but she hasn't been on in March. Anyone know if there's a problem?

    Broken arm update

Well, I'm making progress... got the nine stitches out of my wrist and (approx.) 30 staples removed from the elbow area. I now have a brand-new thermoplastic splint. I start some passive PT on Thursday - still a fair amount of swelling that I suspect will go down quickly now that I'm not heavily...
