    New valve - mild regurgitation?

Hi all! I am 3 months post op with a St. Jude valve. I am having a lot of BP issues; possibly hormonal, so doing the tests. I had an echo done yesterday and was told I have mild regurgitation. Is that normal with a new valve? I will be discussing with my cardiologist at next appointment...

was thank you for your response! I also started having them the day after and now it’s after exertion. It might just be something I need to get used to.

    High diastolic and visual auras

Hello! I’m 8 1/2 weeks post op. Things have been well with my heart and all but I’m having some issues I thought I’d see if anyone else has experienced. I’m on my 4th BP med and finally my systolic no has come down but I continue to have high diastolic. Never had that before. I talked to my...

3 months post surgery, Doc wants to medicate me more than I'm comfortable with.

I would run from that cardiologist! I find it odd he wouldn’t look at you as an individual! I am only almost 6 weeks out but no meds so far. BP meds are a maybe depending on how my BP does (right now it’s stable but it was creeping). I question every med. I have a st Jude but only needed AVR...

    4 weeks post op today

Thank you for sharing! I wasn’t sure if that was the norm and seemed a little long to wait in between testing! It actually made me nervous. 2 weeks makes the most sense as it’s really just a finger prick and doesn’t take much time at all to make sure all is well. Thank you for your input. I...

    4 weeks post op today

I believe I have to wait 6 months first. I don’t mind the lab. It’s leas than 10 minutes from my house and she said the goal is to in every 6 weeks once stabilized.

    diastolic heart failure

Hopefully this is something that can be treated. You sound defeated and I just want to encourage you to hang in there! It’s good you have a diagnosis now so the dr can work on finding ways to treat it. Maybe you just need some different meds.

    diastolic heart failure

I’m so sorry to hear this. Can I ask what your symptoms were? Do you have a mechanical valve?

    4 weeks post op today

Wow I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since my surgery. I have to remind myself of where I came from and realize that the pain I still feel is not like it was. I still have a lot of nerve pain around my chest and breast area…. I don’t know if being bustier makes it worse, but that has...

Why its probably hard to stay in range for some...

I do have a bottle but I have an alarm. How long do you think it typically takes to stay (for the most part) in range. We are still figuring out my numbers. I’m 3 1/2 weeks out. I was at 2.3, increased, 3 days later I was at 2.2 and I am very careful about vitamin k foods.

    After surgery…

I don’t know if they were actually varicose veins, but that’s exactly what it looked like. Maybe lack of oxygen? I just know they’re gone now! 😊

    Not bicuspid?!?

I did not have an aneurism. It was just severe AI with regurgitation.

    Not bicuspid?!?

No calcification either, but I’ll definitely look into the test!
