    Catherizations

After taking 2 of the water pill yesterday, I was so sick to my stomach. Felt terrible, couldn't get comfy in bed Woke up at 3;30. Am just starting to feel a little better now and am gonna try for a nap. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm going nuts! Donna

    Catherizations

So, I've been taking 25 mg chlorthalidone (water pill) for a couple months. The day of the cath (Tuesday), I didn't take one because we had an hours drive, and I figured I'd be laying on a table for a while. I have had this awful cough for a while and it's a lot worse. My ankles are swollen...

    Catherizations

I sure hope they can use your wrist...virtually pain free. They will have to prep your groin area just in case your arm artery goes in circles or something. Good luck.

    Catherizations

Went well. They were able to go thru wrist...no blockages! Hot dog!

    Catherizations

Really? Even if they go thru the groin area?

    Catherizations

I am having my routine heart cath tomorrow morning, and for the life of me, I can't remember how I was afterwards the last time around (11 1/2 years). I'm expecting them to have to go thru the groin area since they can only use my right arm, and I have "chemo veins" in that arm...in other words...

    It Just Got Real

Mary - My primary care gave me a prescription for Ativan, and said I could start out cutting it in half to see how it works. .25mg was great. Helped me calm down. Today I went to work and around noon took another one. It was perfect. Thanks for the recommendation. Donna

    It Just Got Real

I usually start out in bed with a wedge pillow. Works fine, till I have to get up to use the bathroom, then I can't get back to sleep for love nor money! Even trying to sleep in the recliner. I just checked with the PA and he says it's OK to use a sleep aid, just not right before surgery. Thank...

    It Just Got Real

I'm not sure how to quote...anyhow 20days does seem like forever. But today I had an amazing thing happen. At church I was talking to our new-ish deacon. So I dont know him that well. I told him what was going on, turns out he is a cardiologist and knows my surgeon quite well! Said I'm in good...

    It Just Got Real

Me again. I'm feeling horrible. Shortness of breath is ridiculous. Cant sleep well. Yesterday I had my dental checkup and planned to go to work after. Came home and slept most of the day. I never call out sick! Last night felt much better and went to a local place where my cousins husband plays...

    It Just Got Real

How quickly things can change! Went to meet the docs at Penn today. No-go on the TAVR. He says I have "complex issues" with the aortic wrap and the coronary arteries are to close to where the TAVR would open/close. I can't remember it all. So, I'm scheduled for OHS on 5/24. probably not...

    It Just Got Real

Thank you Seaton for your detailed reply. It seems I'm not finished yet! I went for the 2nd opinion, and he agreed 100% with my first surgeon, but felt that I shouldn't wait till June, so he ordered a CT scan for the next day to see what's what. (the kind with the dye) CT scan wasn't fun...I'm...

    It Just Got Real

Hi, seems we both will be in surgery in June. I am new here, again. I was a member years ago when I had my BAV replaced in 2006, at 50 years old, with a porcine value and aortic wrap. Things went just swimmingly until a few months ago when I started having shortness of breath issues. It took me...
