Are sounds from mechanical heart valves equal for different valve types?

Finally, what is ATS? I hate it when acronyms are used in articles and the writer assumes we know what they mean. My Google search shows there is a company called ATS Medical, but their website does not define ATS. Also, ATS Medical was bought out by Metronic, but I could not find ATS on their...

Are sounds from mechanical heart valves equal for different valve types?

Hi all, i am in a process of getting a mechanical valve. Since there are many brands on the market, i was hoping if there is any brand which is more quiet than others? My BAV :)

In stead of a echo, you can also do a Hearth MRI once per year (or 2 years). They are more accurate in general. EF and LV say something but also important to know are the EDV and ESV. It is strange though that your LV varies from 6 to 5.1 now.

My valve was repaired 3 years ago. Unfortunately, i am schedules now for a replacement because the valve repair didn't hold. It's a risk you take. My backup was bio by the way (age 40). Looking back, the repair was not a good choice and they should have aborted the repair and have made the...

    Redo Surgery.

It's amazing that your Bicuspid Aortic Valve repair also failed. Mine lasted for 3 years, but now I am scheduled also for a re-op. I think this whole repair thing is still very experimental, at least for aortic valves. It works better on mitral valves. They should inform patients about the...
