Any good Cardiiologists in the Orlando FL area?

Hi everyone! I am planning on move to the Orlando area soon and just want to get a second opinion whehter I should go ahead and ask if they can perform a TAVI for another possible surgery as my tissue valve that they put in is a bit too small. That is all I need to know. Many thanks in advance!

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

My concern is that I am 76 years old and the longer I wait, the surgery (when the time comes) may be too risky. As for your case, you are still younger than me and of course, in case you need another surgery at least it will come with lesser risks due to your younger age.

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

Hello everyone! Just went to my cardiac facility today and got a EKG. The doctor said it looked fine, but however, he strongly recommended that I need to have the aortic valve replaced sooner or later as gradually it will start damaging the heart. My echo exam is scheduled in 2 weeks from now...

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

Got back from my regular doctor and she looked at my results. She referred me to another cardiologist who also does ultrasounds of the valve. She told me if the gradient pressure increases significantly compared to my current echo exam results, then that means I do need to have the surgery. For...

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

Is mine good or bad enough for an immediate redo surgery? Or, maybe I should just go the route as you are and when it gets to a point were I am out of breath then consider surgery? I have an appointment with my general physician and will bring the same results with me for her to also look at.

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

So basically, the surgeon who I had seen this time is keeping his silence. Its been noted on his diagnosis paper which I have that there are going to overview my situation with another senior professor surgeon (who did my first surgery). No call, nothing. And I am sick and tired of waiting and I...

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

Thank you for all your support. @Pauleowomen - may I ask how old you are? Because I am 76 yrs old, and I can keep going to echo exams like you do to make sure the heart is still in good condition, but what happens if the time comes for a redo operation and the risk of mortality rate goes up due...

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

No damage has been detected from numerous tests. Even this surgeon who just examined my documents said the heart itself is very healthy, however, its just the inner part of the aortic valve that is small (18mm). Sorry, please forgive me, but I don't understand these medical terms so I may be...

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

So there are no less risky corrective procedures such as TAVI? TAVI is where they insert a new valve through the groins ? Correct? So there are no other options other than having another OHS?

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

Think the surgeon said that the inner part of the valve that was inserted from my previous OHS, is 18mm and actual ring around the valve is about 21mm. It’s small. Many doctors have even said this. I really do not want another OHS because is it too risky and they need to also cut out the...

Possible Second OHS due to Aortic Valve being small from previous surgery

Hello all, Please kindly help me as I am very scared now. I need some opinions here if possible. 4 years ago, I had my aortic valve replaced (non-mechanical valve), and after a year, doctors had realized that the aortic valve that my surgeon inserted is small. I had another consultation with...

Possible Second AVR Surgery - Any Risks?

Hi Everyone! Well, here is an another update. This time I had another consultation with another surgeon (same hospital), and gave all my details on what happened and all my past medical documents and he looked at it. He did agree that my aortic valve is small, and therefore, he recommends that...

Possible Second AVR Surgery - Any Risks?

So, finally I had my consultation with my original surgeon, who now, I don't really trust to be honest here... He finally said as well, that a surgery is most likely to be needed again if I want to live a 100% healthy active lifestyle. He is correct on this, because I feel active and energetic...

Possible Second AVR Surgery - Any Risks?

My new surgeon which I spoke to few day ago he said that they will perform another tests on me such as inserting a catheter tube up my heart to see it better before deciding on the surgery just to be on the safe side. Yesterday, I went even shopping with my friend and been able to keep up...

Possible Second AVR Surgery - Any Risks?

Few days from now I will visit with my original surgeon who had inserted the small valve (if he shows up). He denies the fact that my valve is too small and it is normal for my type of physique and body structure. He is ignoring my visits. So out of 5 surgeons who I last visited told me the...

Possible Second AVR Surgery - Any Risks?

Well, sorry. Yes, there is risk with ANY surgeries for that matter. This new surgeon of mine who I had this last consultation with said that If I were to wait for even 3 years, I may end with heart failure and can damage the heart in the long run if I wait too long. So even I may feel a bit...

Possible Second AVR Surgery - Any Risks?

Hi Everyone! Well, some bad news. I had my first aortic tissue valve replacement surgery back in 2016 and after feeling a bit tired and my chest beginning to feel heavier when walking long distances, I met up with many surgeons and it turns out, that my original surgeon had inserted a smaller...
