    Now I have a-fib

So, a surprise detour this morning to the ER with irregular heartbeat around 185-200 bpm, where they found "atrial fibrillation with RVR (HC)," did a cardioversion which stopped the a-fib, and put me on Eliquis for a month. Following up with my regular cardiologist / valve guy on Friday. Not...

What did afib feel like to you?

Those of you who have had afib, what did it feel like to you? It seems like more often lately, I feel like my heart is pounding for no reason. Also, my HR seems to spike sometimes. Not extreme, but it will be maybe 90 BPM when I am just sitting at my computer where normally it'd be about 70...

    Laughs at the TEE

So I was nervous last week for my second TEE but was saved by an unexpected source - the cardiologist doing the procedure. He was not my regular guy. So he's there explaining before they sedate me, and keeps saying they will put the probe in my "food tube." For some reason (this was BEFORE...

    ocular migraines increasing

Just wondering (as I always do) if this is valve-related - I am getting a ton of ocular migraines, many more than usual. Mind you I am deeply grateful not to have the pain others experience with these . . . but still concerned. Thanks for any input.

    Stenosis AND regurgitation?

Saw this on another thread and thought I would start a new one - has anyone had their valve be stenotic AND regurgitant at the same time, and can explain how this happens? I thought they were kind of opposites. My last echo, I'm pretty sure my cardio said that he was in disagreement with...

How much weight did you lose post-op? if any

I have noticed a few different time people referencing losing weight post-surgery, in one case, 30 pounds (!) Is this common? Should I plan on this? Is this water weight (I know I lost about a gallon of fluid on Lasix when I was in the hospital with congestive heart failure - that'd be 8 pounds...
