    BAVD And Weed?

I don't know what BAVD is, as i'm uneducated in what that is....everything i'll tell you is from my experience, and my experience only. I had an Aortic Valve Replacement back in 2012. I was quite the pothead before surgery, i was 24 when i had it done, i'm now 36. I asked around as well this...

Not new, but it's been awhile..

and holy cow how this site has changed. This site gave me the strength and wisdom from those on here, especially the ones that were post op. I have a St. Jude Aortic valve due to my original one leaking. Got it at 24 years old, i'm now 36...and i'll be honest, it's still tough for me. But i'm so...

    Vaccines

hang in there, as crappy as that can be to hear at times (most of the time) it's all about the mentality in the battle. You got this, and you also have a great day, though it's night here now.

    Getting a Tattoo on Warfarin

So got my tattoo today, I'll try and post a pic in next couple days, it's on top of my wrist and goes into the top part of my hand. Had my INR done yesterday I was at 3.3 (range is 2.5-3.5) so higher in my range, was not happy going into today because felt since I wasn't under 3 I'd just bleed...

    Getting a Tattoo on Warfarin

pellicle. Thanks! Though going through all 3 (one of which I started) there still isn't much information other then the one guy who posted pics. Frustrating to say the least that there really isn't much research or experience to go around to really know what the outcome of a tattoo would be. At...

    Getting a Tattoo on Warfarin

I guess I'll do that then, rather then seek info on this one. Thanks.

    Getting a Tattoo on Warfarin

I used the search bar and 3 topics came up, last post being in 2009? Which is why I opted to make a new thread. Epstns, I think that's going to be the first step. Tom, as far as I remember, since it been years since getting ink, I don't think I bled much. As far as a clean established place...

    Getting a Tattoo on Warfarin

First I want to say WOW. It's been quite some time since I've been here, I hope everybody coming and going is doing well. I come here seeking knowledge and hopefully experience from others that may be in this situation (I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong area) So I used search to...

    Question for men. Awkward..

Probably have to look into the pill. I've been on Zoloft and just about every other anxiety medication there is. It wasn't until I started taking benzos that my panic attacks were well managed. and Julian, I hear ya man..but those exam rooms are cold! Nothing we can do about it :(

    Question for men. Awkward..

Well the med I believe that's causing issues is my Xanax, which I've been on for 6 years now. I'm on 4 mg a day, so I believe that is one key factor, however it wasn't until after surgery that my sex drive went down. The sad thing is I need to stay on my Xanax as I get deadly panic attacks. I...

    Question for men. Awkward..

I'm curious if any of the men on here take anything for ED that have had surgery. I'm younger and been having "issues" and I believe it to be due to medication, a couple of them causing the issue. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see. I've been meaning to ask my doctor, but been hesitant...

    On vacation with more symptoms

How are you mentally? To me it sounds like you have a lot on your plate, so when these things tend to occur is it possible that you're over thinking them, when in fact this could all be related to your cold. I know a few weeks ago I had a nasty cold and was experiencing wheezing, palpitations...

When is it time to worry about hitting your head?

I never hit my head, I know it's not something I want happening a lot, and have avoided it for almost 2 years, so I guess it was just a question more on really how fragile are we? Ill use Ski Girl as an example for every time it happens, you're always on here talking about falling off bikes and...

Some questions from a new member :)

I was 25 when I had my AVR, I'm now 27. It's difficult to find a younger crowd that has gone through it today, and is still young ( no offense oldies :) ) 1. I can't answer that as I'm a male and know nothing about blood thinners and pregnancy. 2. I understand being busy, but as someone...

When is it time to worry about hitting your head?

Thanks, I'm going to head to the doctor later today. Also apologize for all the typos, I was on a cell phone typing it out. My INR was fine and actually haven't had to really change it much the almost 2 years I've been on it, the thing that has me worried is I did drink quite a bit ( for my...

When is it time to worry about hitting your head?

At what point should I be worried after hitting my head while on Warfarin? I have consistent headaches and pains in my head, I get light headed and already have vision issues. Just a little bit ago I went to the restroom at a restaurant and hit the side of my head, not bad but still hit it good...

    Fear

I was terrified and anxious before my AVR. I even had basically an emotional break down the evening before when I was meeting with the surgeon to go over all the tests I had done during the day. I then went out and had a nice dinner, got in bed a bit early at the hotel and watched a movie before...

new to the list and so many questions.....help

The wait for the surgery (4 months) was worse then the actual surgery for me. The anxiety was awful. It's hard to say don't get stressed over it, because I'd be a hypocrite. Also with all your previous surgeries I can see the intimidation factor. I was having issues breathing, I was a smoker and...

    Medical Marijuana

Sorry for bringing an old thread alive, but on numerous sites, I read that "it elevates your heart rate".....OK? You know what else does? Exercising, now don't get me wrong, that's obviously a healthy way to elevate your heart rate. Panic attacks and anxiety aside, what is the real alarm to...
