    My AVR OHS Experience

@Timmay , my head rocked too for a while, it does settle down though just give it time, the thumping may stay with you, its worse if you inhale deeply. You will get used to it, and it should fade with time, however it may be your new normal. Happy onward journey

Invasive procedure perioperative management of INR (extended)

@Chuck C hey, I have had 2 surgeries in the 12 years i have been taking warfarin. I found it depends on how the Surgeon feels about the situation. #1 surgery, dose down to ~ 1.5 with no bridging needed. #2 Surgery, dose down to 1, stop warfarin and bridge with Heparin ( classic method )...

Invasive procedure perioperative management of INR (extended)

My surgeon was happy for me to be around 1.5 during shoulder surgery. The INR needs to be low to aid the healing process as well as to mitigate against bleeding.

Returning to exercise after valve surgery

@Chuck C Do you only use EPA ? Not DHA ? just curious Early data suggest a link between Lp(a) level and both ASCVD and valvular aortic stenosis (VAS), but the exact pathophysiologic mechanism is not entirely clear. One current theory includes a two-pronged contribution by the Lp(a) molecule...

Weight lifting with valve and aneurysm replacement

I sure Did, it eliminates the guess work about what your BP is doing under maximum load. You will see the BP curve too, there are ways to avoid spikes to a degree. I personally waited 12 months post opp to do one and I recommend you search out a specific sports related cardiologist who...

Do you measure HRV with a health wearable (watch, Oura ring, Whoop, etc.)?

You can alter your HRV by getting fitter and having good rest. It does alter. Stress will lower the HRV. My own data shows my hrv changes by external factors like rest and exercise and stress.. The idea that HRV is a fixed pattern is incorrect

Do you measure HRV with a health wearable (watch, Oura ring, Whoop, etc.)?

I have a mechanical valve , my HRV is good if im not overtraining, being trained or fit is great but does not guarantee high HRV its either high or low due to being either rested or not. the take away is if its low then you are not ready to train, you need rest. stress will definitely lower...

    Insomnia

personally I was off all Meds by around 4 weeks, Rather than stress about the lack of sleep I rolled with it and just napped, 8 weeks is still very early, its a big shock to your body. Things will settle it just needs time. enjoy the journey

    Insomnia

Hey, I did not sleep for months, I tried sleeping pills but found it was not a refreshing sleep pattern so I came off them after a few days and let nature take its course. I took plenty of daytime naps in the early days too. good luck
