How has it been since your Valve replacement?

if only our words like this did anything to satisfy the anxieties of the newcomers I'd be happy.

Everything about Warfarin, vit. K, drug interactions, etc.

I have no idea why they put .DOC files up there instead of PDF ... wrong on so many levels (for instance macro virus). However its a nice set of simple guidance for people just starting out *(but far from everything).

It's the same as the XS system, strips are where calibration occurs, this is why there is the code chip. The machine is simply a timer and date recorder. There is no need to do more.

spot on ... love the good news stories its not much difference, and how much time was between the lab draw and your own INR test? If Hours ok, if days its an invalid comparison. Dicks point is on the money on draws, but it is also the case that when I started INR testing it took a few goes...

    Interactions

That could be, but it's still not a big variation, a whole unit would be significant

    Interactions

There are however soon pretty well established ones. Anything which interferes with Cytochrome P450 for instance

    Interactions

pretty much within what I'd call normal variance, how does that sit with your observations of your INR variability outside of this context of antibiotics?
  12. pellicle

    Interactions

pretty much this. I've been on amoxicillin for the last 7 (and a bit) years and my INR is pretty much still taking the dose that it was on before I started antibiotics ...

As an a aside, if I'd worn that someone would have reported that to the moderators as a political post and it would have been deleted :-)

Anyone else on warfarin had a head injury?

@gntelbear I concur with this, I've not had any head injury, but with an INR of 3.2 I might drop tonights dose. Depends how you feel about that Watch for other symptoms.

I don't know who discouraged you but they need a good swift kick. I'd personally just buy one and start testing. Ask for advice here and here's a stater post on how to I wrote some years back: http://cjeastwd.blogspot.com/2014/09/managing-my-inr.html you should test weekly in my view, sure a...
