Don’t know what time zone you’re in,
Australian Eastern Standard Time (GMT + 10) ... at least until summer when they do their "pretend to save daylight" thing... I live closer to the tropic of Capricorn where that sort of silly stuff makes no tangible difference. Rather like when living in Finland where the Summer time was equally meaningless (sunrise at 3am instead of 2am and sunset at 11pm instead of 10pm)

its fair to say (speaking generally) we all live on the east coast and they don't have "Summer" time in Winter

haven't had my surgery yet I'm scheduled for august 18th.Aortic valve replacement and maze procedure for the afib.

Yep, it's one week till my AVR operation with a mechanical valve and dacron graft installation (bentall procedure). It's now starting to feel real!

I've been hitting the gym each day to get in the best shape possible before my surgery. My support network is ready and waiting to assist with my recovery.

Thanks everyone here for the information, experiences and advice. I've also also started to chat with some forum members here directly too which has helped, so cheers :)

Looking forward to getting to the 'other side' and start the recovery process.

I will post an update once I'm able to after my surgery.

Cheers!
Let us know how we can support you. God bless you man I'm here for you brother

And I made it to the other side :) I have been doing well.

Successful operation and recovery in hospital. I spent 8 days all up there. I've been at home for the past 4 days in recovery mode (walking, eating, napping etc).

Managed my first INR test today on my machine which was nice too :)

I will post a more detailed update soonish in the post surgery section. Thanks to those members who I've been communicating directly with, it has helped me for sure. And also the nice comments from you folks on this post :)

Interesting to note, my left ventricle has already reduced in size by over a cm from the echo done on day 7 post Op! My old BAV was leaking severely so my LV is now having a rest :D

Cheers!
