Well, as long people believe that they are qualified, and as long as they "feel" that they are smart, then why not?
Yeah I guess they're everywhere. Sort of dealing with this at work but it's just really one guy. Well there's another guy who said if he has to go back to wearing a mask he's going to quit but that's just bluster and he's vaccinated. Basically everyone is except for one 21-year-old guy. He doesn't feel he needs it or wants it, he might not and the argument that it's to help others and get civilization back to normal doesn't really seem to penetrate his skull. I'm normally not one to want management to unnecessarily get involved but I was talking to our operations manager who used to work with us and I am still friends with and I mentioned that we should have some sort of policy where if you're unvaccinated you have to wear a mask in the building. He said we already have it but it was a bit of a secret I guess So they put out a memo and now the guy is all pissed off about it.

I feel that I need to point out that you have some significant hair growth on your ears and face. I understand this to be a common side effect from a popular medication for horses and goats that many people are now taking. On the bright side, the new hair growth on your chest completely hides your scar.
At this point, it's hard to care.

Bad decisions do have consequences. But, it is easy to see how people can get misled by misinformation. It does not make them bad people and they leave families behind that love them. We have a number of folks on my wife's side of the family who see the world the way this man did. There have consequently been a couple of deaths, apparently from Covid. It is tragic, despite the fact that their own foolishness led to the tragedy.

You're correct, and we have no way of knowing how much of their misunderstanding was them nurturing their deliberate ignorance.
Nonetheless, I'm out of compassion. A better person wouldn't be, but I'm not that person right now.

Yeah I just drove up with my wife and son to Bear Creek mountain, it's about an hour outside of Philly, to do some little water slides and spend the night. We got off the Pennsylvania turnpike and we're cutting through this small town called East Greenville and as soon as we turned on main Street there was a protest of about 30 people holding up signs about how the vaccines are made in China and no vaccines and no masks etc..... Nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon I guess.....

Heck, they booed Trump when he suggested to his rally this past weekend they get vaccinated, the genie is out of the bottle and the misinformation has taken those folks over.

Ya I found that amusing, Trump getting booed not that guy dying, it's like a microcosm of what happened to the Republican party- for years they fed that crazy uncle in the attic thinking they could keep him locked up there but he got out and took over the house .. .the poorly educated ( otherwise known as "the base" ) have been fed disinformation for decades from not believing in evolution to climate change and now vaccines and masks. It's sad but to win the nomination now I think you'd have to be anti science and knowledge to the point of satire.
Trump is done recommending vaccines , it's a show and he'll give them what they want. Probably start changing to lock up fauci or some other gibberish. It's amazing to me that those p*gf***ers at his rallies don't recognize how much he despises them.

Because they are too superficial. I have an interesting conversation with 2 (clearly GOP) coworkers on Friday and they clearly were in the Trump is an a**, but they liked what he did over say Biden or Obama
That said the extreme GOP are all the social media nut bags that would rather believe some BS unknown or invalidated source on the Internet (because hey it was on the Internet so it must be true) rather than an establish news source becasue well, they have been poisoned by those social media people that the news media is lying. There are days I am glad I am 60 as I can't even imagine what this place looks like in 50 years (heck even 10-20).
