However, surveys have shown that, following application, Covid symptoms are the last thing on the minds of participants.
I think this is largely conjecture, and agree, further research is needed. The cleric should consider chelated zinc and tribulus supplements.

At least he has the humility to admit that he was foolish not to get the vaccine. When folks suffer consequences for their actions in not getting the vaccine we generally see one of two responses:

1) Warning others that Covid-19 is real and very dangerous, encouraging them to avoid their mistake and get vaccinated.

or

2) Doubling down on their position. Some have clung to their misinformation and conspiracies to the grave.

I see that he is giving you the opportunity to pay his medical bills with his GoFundMe page. While I do wish him a full recovery, I can think of a few charities that I would give priority to, rather than to help bail him out of the financial consequences of his foolish decision.

So here's a weird one re; Covid. I have my CT scan/Pulmonary Function Test coming up on Wednesday. The hospital had asked that I provide a Covid test (nasal version, not quick test) result that was completed 96 hours prior to the appointment.

Yesterday, they called and said that I didn't need to get one. Evidently so many people who needed these per-surgery tests weren't getting them, that they aren't insisting that I go through the hassle/cost. The staff member sounded *extremely* exasperated by the situation.

I'm going to get it anyway, just for my peace of mind, but I'm baffled by this. (An ICU nurse friend reports an identical situation in a major hospital in OH.) Maybe they don't think they have the legal footing to deny/delay OHS because someone didn't get a test? This doesn't make sense to me. You'd think that's something they would want to know before surgery, whether they decide to proceed or not.

I think you have missed a response:

3) Death. Man who died from COVID told nurses he wished he had been vaccinated

"COVID-19 patient who contracted the virus while watching an England soccer match.... His relatives told the outlet they believe Barrett became infected with the virus while watching a Euros 2020 match."

Are you sure it wasn't really a broken heart that killed him?

All my extended family and friends, including the teens were vaccinated as soon as possible, with the exception of 1 nutter. I own a small apt building where everyone is vaccinated so we put a sign to that effect out front for the many mail and delivery people. One of my tenents also often puts out a cooler with ice water for them since it's been so hot. But I keep hearing more and more anger at the unvaccinated as we all are fed up with being "patient and understanding." Especially from parents of younger children. Our area has done well but yesterday in the grocery store about half the people were back to masks. It's disgusting that we all have to be endangered by the idiocy of the resisters who have no community spirit or consideration for anyone but themselves. If a mutation develops that over rides the vaccine, it's all on them. Privileged Americans are dying and killing others out of stubborn stupidity while people in other countries are crying out and desperate for the vaccine.

A virologist at Mayo clinic yesterday warned that these rapidly spreading variants are going to get ALL the unvaccinated including all these a***holes who think they're too healthy or too special or have some secret protection potion.

It's beyond insane. Thanks for the chance to rant. I'll go now.

As an addendum to my previous post, Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, my hospital, has recently released an internal document that informs all employees and staff that the Covid-19 vaccines will not be mandated unless or until the vaccines receive full FDA approval. They do not provide a reason for their decision but based on what I have heard from my contacts at the hospital it is because they are afraid of medical staff quitting. I also suspect they are fearful of litigation down the road from people who experience serious side effects after being coerced to get an experimental vaccine. Unfortunately for me, since I have been an active volunteer at TMH, they are mandating that we volunteers get the vaccine (more double standards), which I will not do until all testing and trials are completed and the FDA gives it a green light, not a yellow one.

Okay well I guess do what's best for you or should I say what you think is best for you. I mean I disagree with you but saying that you will get it if it gets the full green light as you say is a rational way of looking at it compared to those who think the vaccine is a way of Bill Gates tracking you... Best of luck

50% of my adult family members have not been vaccinated.

We have a number of anti-vaxxers on my wife's side of the family and in our circle of friends. What is encouraging is that many of their kids don't agree with the conspiracy views of the parents. One family we know is full blown conspiracy, believing the moon landing was faked and so on. They don't allow vaccines for their children for anything. Their son recently turned 18 and went and got vaccinated, not only for Covid-19, but also for all the other major vaccines that the medical guidelines recommend.

Got Moderna #1 two weeks ago, so far so good; The Wuhan Virus is here to stay; they fabricated it for some wierd purpose....

@Michael O,
Covid tests were needed here in April for cardiac unit related tests and surgeries it may be wise to do the nasal test for CT scan, but that test has little human contact and simply masking was. Sufficient at my hospital for CT.

I needed a nasal Covid test 48-72 hours preceding admittance for both my one day Angiogram in early April and my admittance to hospital for surgery in late April. Another nasal swab and covid test was done at hospital at admittance and before being released.

Both of the above procedures took place for access to Cardiac dedicated operating rooms and the cardiac unit in my hospital (rightly so in my view). Cardiac unit has been very diligent about Covid containment and have been successful in doing so. There was also quarantine rooms in cardiac ward for emergency arrivals, until tested for covid.

No Covid test done for my CT scan last December nor for an MRI in May, but these tests are performed in general hospital facilities. Normal masking procedures for both MRI and CT Scan

Covid illness is far from over or in control, i believe it is better to be cautious with small inconveniences like masks and tests when needed.
good luck with your surgical process
