    Cardioversion done with a pacemaker?

I had AVR in November and they put in a pacemaker. I am still in AFib and will be seen in a couple of weeks by my Cardio Doctor. Has anyone with a pacemaker had cardioversion? I was wondering if anything special has to be done with the pacemaker before cardioversion can be done?

In AFib and fluid on lungs

My husband went for hois post surgery checkup. Since he wasn't feeling that well yet, they decided to do a chest X-ray. The next day they called and said there was fluid on his left lung. He was told to stop his warfarin and get an appointment to have the fluid drained off his lung. Two days...

Does anyone have a Merlin@home transmitter that monitors their pacemaker? Or something similar?

    TAVR Trial

Oh, they did put in a pacemaker. A little AFib has returned and the electrical top and bottom of the heart is out of rythum . I'm sure there is a better way to say that, but I know nothing about an electrical part.

    TAVR Trial

He is home now. Sleeping in a recliner and up every couple of hours. Walking in the house several times a day with laps plus up to the table to eat and bathroom walks. Our son will be here for two more days. That has given me a lot more time to be a personal nurse. The doctor didn't want...

    TAVR Trial

This is the wife writing. The hospital called Friday and wanted him in for pre op tests. Surgery was yesterday. He didn't make the TAVR side of the trial. He had Open Heart replacing the aorta, and repairing the mitral and tricuspid. He is still in ICU and doing well except they think he might...

    TAVR procedure

Glad everything went pretty smooth for you. I was also told that the stay might just be over night if I get the TAVR. Last I heard from Shands, it will be a couple of weeks yet, then getting testing up to date. I still have my fingers crossed that I will get the TAVR instead of SAVR. Thanks...

    TAVR procedure

I have signed up for the TAVR procedure in a study for 65 and older, low risk. It's been nine weeks now and still no answers on when it will be done. In this study I have a 50/50 chance of having the TAVR. So much red tape to go through. I was given the choice of dropping out and having...

TAVR Now FDA Approved for Intermediate Risk!

I'm still waiting to find out if I get the TAVR. It's a low risk over 65 yo study. That's the way I want to go! My wife thinks open heart would be best, so if trouble later in life I could go for the TAVR. I'm 72 yo. Either way, since it's a study, I don't get to choose.

    "Waiting Room" Record

Doctors would say for years that I had a heart murmur, but I felt fine and it didn't mean anything to me. In 2004 my new family doctor said " you know one day you'll have to do something about that". Then in 2007 I started into Afib. While seeing a cardiologist for that, I was told that the...

    Pre surgery Tests

Had the heart cath Wednesday. Everything went well. No blockage. The heart team meets Monday to decide on the candidates. I have met two of the doctors now. I'm hoping to find out next week and get a surgery date set up.

    Post TAVR journey of CoryP

Pellicle, has there been any updates on Coryp? I might be going into a trial that will start very shortly. I hope I'm making the right choice.
