Sometimes I just don't get it!
OK let me ask a surgeon if I need surgery....please I can't take it!
Why would you do that? You need to be your own advocate get many opinions from Cardiologists and maybe even ask your GP if you have a good relationship with him or her. You are going to be...
Jenn......slow things down a little bit and ask your cardiologist for a script for a cardiac MRI which should provide you with additional in formation and let you know whether or not you need surgery now and please get a few different opinions.....you need to be your own advocate today!
How about the cost of the Surgery? Small price to pay IMO.
Main problem is the OHS Lobby full of cardiologists, surgeons and Hospitals that want the revenue and will do almost anything to protect it. I wouldn't be surprised to see the cardiologist who recommends the surgery to get rewarded...
Too late for the "Evidence"....she had the surgery! And the people that do the worst after the surgery are the people that didn't need it in the first place. These are doctors! They take an oath!
How about this right......I go for the MRI which I have no idea how it's going to turn out....if...
Pellicle....what if she didn't need that surgery....we'll never know now without the MRI which it doesn't sound like they recommended or even told him about. Nice?
Tom
Thanks for the kind words Astro....that's all I was trying to do.
You have to be your own advocate today and get more than one second opinion....this is OHS not a small thing! I'm curious if they even mentioned the Cardiac MRI....did they? Again 2 cardiologists and she never has the...
You're the only one here that wants to fight! I'm trying to let people know there's another test they can ask about. What's your problem? Man are you nasty! And tell me how you know I'll eventually need surgery? I did get another opinion....did you miss that in your effort to fight with me...
Thank you for finding this study for me.....I didn't want to ultimately have an in-depth discussion about this so much as just raise the level of awareness about this test which again made all of the difference for me....I wound up with Mild regurgitation (19 ML) and had no symptoms...
Look I'm just a little passionate because this test saved me from surgery! My cardiologist fought me tooth and nail before he would give me a script for the MRI.....not very professional and then tried to scare me with the dangers of CHF. He was my physician for 10 years and I shudder to think...
Look I have no skin in this game! All I'm saying is that when you look at the research objectively the ECHO is not the definitive test ABSOLUTELY!!. Just the operators alone can make the difference and that's not the only shortcoming. No one can argue with that. Why not have the MRI to be...
The fact is the Echo is frequently wrong and not sufficient and in one study misdiagnosed 50% of mild regurgitation as severe...not a good sign!! if it's my heart and at one time it was I'm getting the MRI!
Please absolutely get a Cardiac MRI...do not be satisfied with the Echo....it isn't the definitive test for regurgitation!!! Most cardiologists insist it is as do the surgeons DUH!
You need other opinions as well......if it's OHS I'm getting more that a few opinions.
