    2 Years

Hi everyone, I had my two year anniversary last month. I'm feeling great and most of the time I forget I ever had this surgery. Today I was reminded because I have a dentist appointment and gulped down the 4 antibiotic capsules. So much has changed in two years. I am in my internships now for...

    Another Newbie to the forum...

Hi, I started working on my Masters in Mental Health Counseling two months after my surgery. I could have went back a month after. I was pretty spaced out for the month of August (had my surgery late July). I wasn't really at the top of my game until probably January the next year. I don't know...

    A Fib disappointment / Setback

Sorry to hear that. I went into afib shortly after my surgery too. I never had it before my surgery. They put me on sotalol which helped and it's been two years and since then I've only had atrial flutter a few times for a few minutes, once for a couple hours. They switched me off the sotalol to...

Went to the EP, nervous to take these new pills

That is great to hear, if it cuts down my PVCs to 70% that would be cause for celebration. I'm waiting for a 30 day holter to be sent to me in the mail. I haven't received it yet. I'll be on 50 mg 2x a day. What dose is effective for you?

Went to the EP, nervous to take these new pills

My cardiologist said that the Tambacor (Flecanaide) is safe for people with healthy hearts and arteries, I guess the serious problems are only for those with heart disease. So she put me at ease, I'm sure I'll not enjoy taking these for the first month because I always get severe dizziness with...

Should I stay or should I go?

I stayed for four days, I got lucky and the airline upgraded me to first class so the flight back was fine, I just slept through it. We went over to Michigan to visit some of my husband's friends from highschool. Everything went fine. I didn't have any problems until I came home and I have a...

Went to the EP, nervous to take these new pills

Yes, I need to wait and hear what my cardiologist has to say. I just get really nervous about new meds, I've been on some horrible ones

    aches and pains

Fundy, I had the same thing, I was told it was Dressler's syndrome. I had it a few times in the year after my surgery and now I have it no longer. It started at the bottom of my ribs, moved to my collar bone, then into my back. Most doctors don't know anything about this, I was in the ER three...

    Night sweats

I was so sweaty!!! It didn't matter how cold I put the air conditioner or how much or how little clothing I wore. They do sell sweat wicking sheets now, I don't know if they'd work or not. The only thing that kind of helped me was I'd turn the air down really cold (had my surgery in the summer)...

Should I stay or should I go?

From my experience of local hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic I'll give you my perspective. The entire staff at the Cleveland clinic was so helpful and friendly from the surgeon I used down to the janitors, the rooms are huge and they have great beds I wanted to take one of them home (the...

    Breathing problems.

You may also want to go to a pulmonary doctor as well.

    1 week

I had the same problem with dizziness at first, get yourself a bunch of ice packs and you won't need much more than tylenol soon. They can change your beta blockers if you are getting too dizzy so talk to your cardiologist to see if you can change to something different. As far as sleeping...

Went to the EP, nervous to take these new pills

Hello everybody. Its been a while since I've been on here. So I've had PVCs since 2005 and I've had them every third heart beat since my surgery. At first they made me absolutely crazy but now only sometimes do I even notice them. Also I have atrial flutters once in a while and I've had a-fib...

New Member And Overwhelmed - Need Advice

I went anemic after my surgery and needed blood, but it is screened very well now and I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you have time and you are very concerned about that I believe you can bank your own blood.

    scar and cortisone shot

Update on my scar, the bottom is white and flat now, the top 1/2 inch is protruding slightly but it isn't sensitive anymore and it doesn't bother me much at all so I recommend the cortisone shot, just ask if they can put some numbing cream on it first.
