Duffey- I'm not sure what brand of Tissue valve you have but I have the Edwards valve and my doctor has seen them last between 20 - 25 years. I was 49 when I got it and didn't want the risks of blood thinners. Good luck with the tonsils.
Mine went up to 152 the 2nd week after my AVR went to the ER and they got it down then a couple days later the same thing again back to the ER a week later up to 163 back to the ER they kept me and did the ablation now perfect at 70-80 all the time. It was tachacardia im glad that's over 6...
I think my AVR surgery is very minimal 2 &1/2 '' inch HORIZONTAL scar above my right breast. The Amazing surgeon went between 2 ribs and replaced my valve, 6 months ago ( I feel great!!!)
Hi AJC 1991, I had a bicuspid aortic valve too that needed to be replaced, I chose an organic valve because of blood thinners and being a cook I wouldn't want to worry about cutting myself while working. I am 49 and knew it would need to be replaced but my doctors said they have seen these...
I haven't seen any posts about anyone having a horizontal scar above the right breast only 3" long. Mine isn't too bad although it healed like a keloid so it's a bit thicker than most. I'm getting used to it now, the area below it is still a bit numb even after almost 6 months.
Hi Glooney, You are so lucky to have TAVR the hospital in Buffalo does it now and from the looks of the video on the Gates Vascular Institute page it looks amazing! Good luck, remember "God doesn't give you more than you can handle" someone told me that and it got me thru some difficult...
Hi River-wear, My surgeon said he would do this small access for the Aortic valve if he could see all the area well, I had a lot of pre testing done and didn't know until I woke up what way he went in. This is the best Surgeon around!!! I am so lucky. Recovery was so much easier, sneezing still...
Do you know for sure you will have a full incision down the middle, my surgeon did a 3inch horizontal incision above my right breast, it is amazing only that small area. Although there is still a titanium plate and 5 screws to re attach my rib to my chest bone.
Hi LDM, Yes waiting for your day is the hardest part. A few days before you will do your pre op testing, a lot of information will come your way. Write down questions in case you have any, I am 49 and had my surgery 18 weeks ago. I went back to work full time at 12 weeks ( with a 15lb weight...
It's nice to see your post I was seriously getting ready to call the hospital looking for you!!! Today is my 4 month anniversary, I hope you feel better soon! I would still like to visit.:D
