Originally diagnosed with BAVD, but upon surgery it was found that my aortic valve was actually "unicuspid", which is even more rare. Surgeon said my valve was like a tiny slit of a door, barely opening and very calcified.
Within a short while of learning I had a congenital heart defect I had to have a tooth extraction. I subsequently contracted endocarditis and was hospitalized. I was lucky and after IV therapy I was successfully treated and cleared of endocarditis. I then had my AVR a few months later.
Outdoors, fly fishing, sports, spending time with my gal, friends & family, pet dog, volunteer work and reading.
