Is it possible to travel internationally for six months of the year while on Warfarin?

Pellicle, What is the reasoning behind this suggestion? Where I bought my monitor from the CoagSense was the only option and so far I am happy with it.

    I can't stop crying

I too was very emotional for several months post op. Like the OP, the smallest things set me into an emotional rollercoaster. Songs, commercials, even the way someone or one of my dogs would look at me. It sure did not take much to get the waterworks going. Now, I too am back to "normal".

    Warfarin is very tweaky

I too eat a heavy vitamin K diet. Asparagus, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, and Spinach at least 5 days out of the week if not 7. I am currently on 16 mg/day warfarin and that is keeping me in the 2.9-3.1 range. I try not to worry about what I eat as long as I feel I am eating healthy. I've went...

    It makes a clicking sound

I am nearly 6 months post op from my Bentall procedure with an On-X valve. The feeling of the valve in my throat is finally gone but the clicking and thumping is here to stay. I realize now that I will likely not ever be one of the people that have the noise "go away." I am aware of it 24/7...

    Unusually LOUD heartbeat

I had a Bentall procedure Nov 18, 2021 with an OnX valve. My valve is extremely loud. I hear it pretty much at all times. My coworkers all noticed it right away after I returned to work. Many people have told me that I will "get used to it" and the noise will disappear. So far the noise has...

    High resting heart rate

My heart rate was extremely low after surgery. I am not sure what I was at in the ICU but once I got to PCU I was in the low 40's. They think that I was on too much beta blocker and that triggered me to have SVT. I was still in the 40's several weeks after surgery until they knocked me down...

    Life after OHS

Not married but my GF of three years was a bit hesitant when I ripped the kitchen out a week prior. By the time I left for the hospital I had all the lowers and new appliances in so we still had a functioning kitchen.

    Life after OHS

I had OHS (Bental Procedure) on November 18, 2021. I just went back to work this past Sunday. I've also been enjoying snowshoeing, going to the gym, and getting back in to my kitchen remodel I started a week prior to surgery! It's nice getting back into the things we enjoy!

    Bentall procedure complete!

Hard to believe it has been 10 weeks already. I head back to Mayo Clinic today for my first follow up with my cardiologist. Bloodwork, ECG, and echo followed by a cardiology consult on Thursday. Hoping to come home on a few less meds! Angel Flight is an amazing organization and will be...

    starting home INR monitoring questions

interesting…..I haven’t heard that yet but it definitely seems to be the case. My dose has went up each week, yet my INR has went down or stayed the same until this last week. My GF and I ate vitamin K a lot before my surgery so we continue to now as well. I have Brussels, broccoli, and...

    starting home INR monitoring questions

Thanks everyone. I ordered my kit today from Wilburn so I should be up and running next week. Hoping to get my INR in check soon. I had to stay in the hospital longer because my INR would not come up. Two weeks post op I was 1.9 and have went downhill ever since. I was at 1.5 and 1.6 the...

    starting home INR monitoring questions

I will be starting home INR monitoring once I get a device and strips but I have a few questions for those that are experienced with it. 1. I have a script from my PCP for a monitor and strips so that way when I purchase one I can submit receipts and the cost will go towards my deductible on...

    It makes a clicking sound

I had a Bental procedure in November 18th and I agree. Mine sure is a noisy bugger and really got to me on more than one occasion. I am starting to accept it more. I pretty much seem to always hear it but it doesn’t bother me as much already.

    Aortic Valve Choices

My On-x valve makes a lot of noise. I am 3.5 weeks post surgery. The noise has been a tough point for me at times, especially since I am having some arrhythmia issues and the audible tick just makes it more noticeable. My aorta was also replaced with Dacron which some are saying could cause...
