    9 years St Judes valve

    10 years on from open heart surgery , valve replacement and aortic root repair ! Thanks to the brilliant surgeon Mr Javangula and the amazing Cardiac Unit team at Leeds General Hospital. 10 years I wouldn’t have had without that 10 hr operation ❤️

    9 years ago today I was undergoing open heart surgery and having a St Judes heart valve put in. Once again thanks to the Leeds General Hospital cardiology staff and surgeon Mr Javangula. ☺️

    7 years 🙂👍🏻

    7 years today since my 10hr open heart surgery for aorta repair & mechanical valve fitting. Many thanks to the brilliant consultant Dr Baig , amazing surgeon Mr Javangula and the super Leeds NHS cardiac team @ LGI 😌 Also to friends & fam for the support at the time 🙂

    6 Years today

    6 years today since my successful mechanical St Judes heart valve op! I now have a pacemaker to match but all good! Thanks to the excellent valve op team at LGI in Leeds - eternally grateful! :-)

    Anyone have a valve replacement AND a pacemaker?

    I had an aortic valve replacement (St Judes mechanical valve) 6 years ago. I've also had a pacemaker (Abbots St Judes) inserted January this year as the two chambers were not communicating with each other and I had an extremely low pulse. Siince then no more dizzy spells and all good so far :-)

    I had the Pacemaker (Abbotts - ST Jude) fitted today.. Not too bad a procedure I have to say and the staff at North Hants hospital (Basingstoke, UK) were amazing. They offered to book me off work for 2 weeks but at my company I dont get paid if I dont work,So Im booked off for a week followed...

    WARFARIN MEDICATED Medical Alert Wristband

    I recently purchased a Warfarin alert wristband. I hadn't thought of it before but I suppose in event of an accident and being unconscious its a good idea! Perfectly comfortable to wear also. Unfortunately I cant upload images on this site

    CoaguChek strips Self test INR

    Hiya Wondering what CoaguChek XS test strips are like for monitoring INR if anyone's used them? I go for tests biweekly and am wondering if this is a good alternative with metallic heart valve or if its not as acurate perhaps as going in weekly

    My 5th Year :-)

    I forgot to post last Tuesday on here but its 5 years since OHS - valve replacement and root repair. As always much appreciation to the Cardio team at LGI (Leeds General Infirmity) and surgeon Dr Javamgula. It's amazing hpw the years go by and it's good at 57 to feel energetic and happy still...
