Has anyone tried regular XS strips in a Coaguchek INRange machine?

I hope that's the case. If so, I would be buying regular XS strips all day long. However I get the feeling that Roche has an interest in me not doing that. The PST strips are more expensive and seem to be less available online. I read somewhere that somehow by upgrading their machine and...

Has anyone tried regular XS strips in a Coaguchek INRange machine?

The person I spoke with said and I quote: "The strips should not work and should give you an error message". They then proceeded to ask the lot # and serial number of my meter to check. If you could ask those two people, I'd love to find out!

Has anyone tried regular XS strips in a Coaguchek INRange machine?

Canada :) All good that they both worked on the XS, but the big mystery is what will happen on the INRange machine. It wouldn't surprise me if Roache is just trying to maximize profits (seems to be working as the PST ones seem to be harder to find) but also wouldn't surprise me if it just...

Has anyone tried regular XS strips in a Coaguchek INRange machine?

Thanks for the reply. A lot of good points, but would love to hear some first-hand experience from some valvies who have used regular XS strips on an INRange meter before I go ahead an purchase the regular XS strips

Has anyone tried regular XS strips in a Coaguchek INRange machine?

Hi all, I'm wondering, does anyone use regular XS PT Test strips (not the PST strips) on an INRange machine? They seem more available and cheaper. A Roche rep told me they will not work, but I'm not sure I believe them. Any experience or insights would be greatly appreciated.

To metoprolol or not to metoprolol

Thank you everyone for the thoughtful comments Why did you want to discontinue at 6 months? I seem to be tolerating well. BP is perfect, and in general I don't feel too tired. No worse than usually When I asked him if I could go off because I also don't feel it doing anything (for better or...

To metoprolol or not to metoprolol

Hi, I'm 4(!) months post op after a Bental w/mechanical valve. Had a visit with cardiologist and one topic that came up was whether to continue with metoprolol. I had a bit of Afib post-op, but otherwise I am a healthy 39 year old individual. Since release from surgery, I have been taking...

    Viruses and Palpitations

Hey! Almost 12 weeks post op and proud to report I got my first cold virus. For the first few days heart palpitations (PVCs I believe) returned out of no where. Which leads me to my question: Does anyone else experience PVCs when they are sick? While I'm at it, I also took some cold...

How do you prevent endocarditis and blood infections?

Thanks again to everyone who replied. Right now I use an electric sonic care toothbrush twice a day, and floss only in evenings. After reading some of your replies, I think I will up the flossing to twice a day, and look into interdental toothbrushes after meals (never heard of these before)...

How do you prevent endocarditis and blood infections?

Thanks to everyone. I have no intentions of tip toeing, but do plan on being cautious when it makes sense to, and it's of little effort to do so. Sounds like I'm on the right track with dental hygiene, I'm just curious about how you guys treat cuts If you get a minor cut, do you clean it...

How do you prevent endocarditis and blood infections?

Hi all, I am 6 weeks and 3 days post op where I replaced my native aortic valve and part of the aorta with a St Jude mechanical and graft. I am recovering very well and starting to think about how to preserve my new valve. This forum has been a wealth of helpful information so I thought I'd...

    INR won't budge

I am far from an expert on this, but are you measuring weekly (or twice a week until stable) at home? Seems like thats the only way to account for differences.

Mechanical Valvers! Tell me about your travel experiences

Not quite sure what you mean. I definitely need to have surgery and am looking to have it within the next 2 or 3 months. I don't have an aneurysm yet, but surgeon wants to be proactive so it doesn't become the catalyst for a future intervention. As far as I understand I can pick my own intervention
