I had 2 valves replaced @ 22. I asked the surgeon about alcohol at my post op follow up. He looked at my labs... asked if I was really on 12.5 mg of Coumadin.... and said in very broken english.... Alcohol.... yes... good.... green leafs.... no good.

I can hear mine all the time. It's also interesting because most kids can hear them from across a room but adults don't usually.

I was wondering if anyone here on Coumadin has needed to have their Wisdom Teeth extracted? I've been to several oral surgeons... one told me to live with the teeth problem and it's not worth the risk unless the symptoms are unbearable one told me that I would need to be in the hospital...

I use a regular razor. No electric. Of course there are going to be cuts but they clot after a while. I shave my head too... Its really terrible when you get a razor cut up there.

Kids do bounce back much faster than adults. There is a camp for kids who have had heart surgery and other advanced cardiac abnormalities that I work at in the summer for a week. I've seen many go through surgery and from what the parents have said the hardest part is getting them to take it...

I have also had these spells since surgery. They can come on at anytime... and I can have one a day or go months with nothing. Very rarely it gets so bad that I actually vomit.
