Sternal closures??

As far as sternal closures, has anyone had the Sternal Talons or Kryptonite glue after having the "bread ties"?

yes, as previously mentioned, i had Kryptonite bone cement as well as wire for sternal closure, for a surgery done in Canada in May 2010.

First OHS had the glue. Second had “staples“ I had to go back in to get pulled out...ouch

I had this one put in Nov 19 2020. I have no discomfort and was doing hard labor by week 8. I can feel it once in a while no pain I just know its there. I am happy with it so far.

Bill,

I chose the best surgeon I could find and let him handle the procedures as he thought best. I would feel uncomfortable telling him otherwise. I have had no problem with my sternum. All I know is that the skin was glued together. If you get an experienced well respected surgeon he will take care of you.
