Hello all,
Have any of you developed, or have had lung inflammation / breathing related issues, WELL past your surgery dates?

I had pluerisy a couple weeks after my surgery in June2019 (guess I wasnt hittin that spirometer hard enough;) Several months passed and I was doing great, but this past spring I had another 'pleuritic' episode. Ive always had asthma & allergies since I was young. Clinic doctor seemed to think that I am / will be susceptible to this going forward. Xray didnt show anything, so he just had me take some Ibuprofen and the pain eventually subsided (as did that increased INR from Ibuprofen). Well, here it is a couple months later, and BOOM, out of nowhere Ive got this major discomfort when breathing. Thinking it's those dang 'pleuritic' pains again. My exercise / cardio has regressed substantially over the months due to work schedule, so Ive got this paranoia in me that this is something more than lung inflammation. Can anyone relate? Have had similiar issues? TIA.

For me, Spring and Fall bring seasonal allergies. Don't rule that out. I've had friends that had similar symptoms due to allergies exacerbated by asthma.

Yes, it has been over 20 years since my mechanical mitral valve surgery and I get pleurisy 1-2 times a year. The first few times really concerned me because of the sharp pains in my chest. Breathing air deep into my lungs was very painful. I take aleve and keep a close watch on my INR until it gets better.
