Dyna, I hope your mitral repair is successful and you are soon back home. I know you're well prepared, and that's half the battle!
We've got a vacation home about five hours north of you; if we make the trip this summer, maybe we can get together for a meal.
In the meantime, Godspeed!

Praying for a quick recovery!
"cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you"

Thank you everyone.

Something I am finding rather odd is that the closer the date comes, the less I worry. I stopped taking any drugs for anxiety over a week ago. I am totally at peace with whatever happens & for some reason I find that very strange.

I felt exactly the same way. I thought that I wouldn't get any sleep the night before surgery, but I actually slept like a baby. Good luck to you.

Best of luck Dyna, hope all goes really well for you. I understand what you mean about feeling calmer as the surgery approaches. I'm 13 days away from mine and am actually starting to look forward to just getting it all over with now!! :)

Sometimes it is a releif to have a date and knowing it will soon be all over. Wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
