Hi,

I had a stress test yesterday, all went well until the end when the Tech says I want to have the doctor peek at your results. I automatically think something is wrong, she came back out and said we'll see you on your follow-up on 26 Feb 09. Althought I feel fine, anytime someone says I need to have the doctor take a look I kinda worry. My question is would it be right to call my doctor before hand and ask about the results?

I know I probably would call and ask for the results. The tech. should not have said anything. Then your mind wonders...... Maybe they NP will tell you if you call. I had that happen with a MRI I had. The tech told me to call the doc as soon as I got home. FREAKED ME OUT! I called the doc and they said they themselves did not have the results yet. Ofcourse, that was on a Friday and I had an appt. the following Friday. So I had to wait. Never hurts to ask IF you want to know. Best of luck to you.

Whenever I have any test, I fill out the Request for Information Form and ask for the results in 2 weeks. After that time, if I have not yet received the report, I call the records office, tell them I have not received the report and ask if I can pick it up the next time I am in the area (or if they can send it if I'm not going to be nearby anytime soon).

My Cardiologist and his nurse gave me a Cardiolite Stress test couple years ago in his office. He gave me the results right then. I didn't think I needed the test. I think he had just purchased the equipment and wanted to start paying for it. ;)

So I see no reason for you not to call your doctor. The results are probably ok or you would have heard from the doctor.

Olefin,

Thanks! That's what I was thinking, the more I think about it if something was really wrong they probably would be contacting right away.
