Well I am busily packing here for our Southern Caribbean family cruise tomorrow. There is a horrible storm outside but it will finish tonight (fingers crossed).
It's lovely to think about palm trees and sunshine etc. I will also have my adult children trapped onboard and I will demand their attention and affection -- which is good training for when I get my surgery. My husband has already been trained...:p

It feels so strange to feel pretty good and need a new valve at the same time! Right now I am mentally skipping through to January 15th or 16th when it is DONE. I guess I'll have a nice tan for surgery, if anyone notices....

Anyways, MERRY CHRISTMAS everybody and thanks to you all for keeping this site such a terrific venue for support and information:)

You are all wonderful!

I know the feeling, Dale! But how nice that you'll be able to enjoy your cruise! before your surgery!

Happy holidays and very best wishes,

Jim

What a wonderful way to keep yourself busy before surgery, Dale. I will put you on the calendar for January 14th and look forward to hearing all about the cruise and your successful surgery.

Enjoy, have fun and Merry Christmas.
Specials prayers and best wishes for the New Year.

P.S.
Bring home the sun shine and the heat okay?

Merry Christmas to you too, Dale. Enjoy the warmth of the sunshine, special time with your family, abundant food and perhaps a marguerita or two:D!

Thoughts and prayers (as always) are with you my friend.

We returned yesterday from a 14 day Eastern/Southern Caribbean cruise and it was fabulous. We so luckily missed the storm that dropped 12" of snow on our driveway.
We had small travel delay flying home from FLL yesterday but our cruise was certainly worth that.

Enjoy your cruise, Dale.
Have a wonderful time.

I wish you all the best! My nurses always notice my tan lines (I'm not a sun addict, just a gardening freak, so need to put on more sunscreen - no need to tempt the cancer gods!) and I think your cruise will provide you with wonderful mental pics in your head for that ICU and post-op stay. I don't do TV, so spend alot of time when hospitalized keeping my favorite places, people and events in my head. :)

Cruise away! What a nice time to be away from the deep freeze of winter.

Thanks for the great advice!

Thanks for the great advice!

I'm back from the cruise and we had a marvellous time. Apparently we missed alot of crummy weather too. After seeing all the palm trees and beaches I always wonder why I continue to live through the long Canadian winters. If we just had our own Florida or Hawaii or Texas etc to go to.... The best we can do is BC I suppose. (No offence to BCers but it's not tropical)
Maybe one of those small Caribbean islands would like to become our 11th province? I suppose others have thought of this already....

One of the best things about the cruise was seeing the various large family groups with little kids and grandparents enjoying everything. Some of the grandparents were pretty old and frail looking but they showed up for the shows and some did a little line-dancing and singing. There was so much laughter on board!

Thanks to all who encouraged me to go. I almost cancelled out of fear but I felt great the whole time.

The trip gave me a lift and has helped to propel me into a new state of peacefulness about my upcoming surgery and I just have a feeling that everything will be all right. I'll post a few pictures when I figure out how to do it!

Happy New Year!

Dale, you survived! ;)
The weather in Southeast Ontario has been okay so far, last weekend we had +10C.
Of course Sask is starting their 4th week of -25C.
Anyway, now you have 2 weeks to fuss around the house making preparations.

So glad you had a great cruise, glad you went, glad your

back posting.

Welcome back!

Welcome back!

Glad you and your family did the cruise! My wife and son and I have gone on 2 cruises years ago to those kind of brilliant blue-green magical ocean worlds. Hard not to relax on those! You have a boatfull of thousands of people who truly are relaxed and happy- both staff and cruisers. Nice. May the next 2 weeks fly by for you. Time to get an warm tropical picture for your screen saver.
