I'm greatly relieved for you to hear the good news for Lady. It's a wonderful way to start off the weekend, and brings some joy to my heart.

Unfortunately, we go to pick up our sweetheart's ashes tomorrow. They'll stay with us for the winter and come with us to a favorite spot in Maine, where we would take her to "go sniff a moose."

Very best wishes,

I think I told the good news too soon. Just a few minutes ago my Lady dog started bleeding from her nose again. She was eating and I noticed her bowl was full of blood. Oh my! ! I gave her four vitamin K hoping this will stop it, if not I guess I'll have to call the vet. My husband just wants to put her down. He was raised on a farm and an animal is just an animal. He just doesn't understand my love for animals. She is outside and doesn't want to come in the house. Poor thing, I feel so sorry for her. I would much rather it be me instead of her. Say a prayer for me and "Lady" tonight. I'll let you all know in the morning if she made it through the night.

Is Lady having any SOB with the bleeding? You haven't mentioned it,so I
assume not.
I am not familiar with how poison works or it's course- but maybe it will
take some time to work out of her system. I hope this is the case.
Sending good thoughts and hoping alo will be well-Dina

You're in my thoughts. I want so much for your Lady to get through this trial. My hopes are with you.

Longer term, you may want to look for another vet for your pets. While his approach doesn't make him a bad vet (farm vets have to develop a very pragmatic attitude about their patients), it may color his perception of how hard to try to fix something, and that may not be in tune with your thinking.

There are realities with having animals, but they are not always the driving force. Sometimes we will fight for a friend, fur or not.

Very best wishes,

Oh Glenda! Oh No! Not again! I can understand you not wanting to put her down. I hope the bleeding stops and the vet can do something for her. I will keep you and Lady in my thoughts and prayer. Prayers for a good outcome.

Oh Glenda, I'm so sorry to hear that Lady's life is still in jeopardy! I pray that she gets through this setback & returns back to health!

Best wishes dear!

After I let her out last night to go to the bathroom she didn't want to come back in the house. When I was ready to go to bed around 12:00 I couldn't find her anywhere. This morning she was on the front porch. She has only had one episode of bleeding today and it was a few mintues ago and it wasn't bad. I just hope the vet can get to the bottom of it. It's really weird. She is still eating and drinking water. It hasn't stopped her at all. She does sometimes seem to be breathing awful hard. She's been doing that for a while though. I thought it was because she had gained some weight. I hear her barking outside now so I'm going to let her in.

Thanks again everyone for your concern and prayers. It's great to know that there are others that love their furry friends as much as I do. I'll keep you posted.

Glenda - my heart is breaking for you and I hope that your Lady is going better. We have a Rhodesian ridgeback and I would just be beside myself he something happened to him. So I'm sending good thoughts and prayers your way for Lady.

She doesn't have anything stuck up her nose, does she? I am sure they would have checked that out, and she would be pawing at her nose, probably. Just grasping at straws here.

I once had a cat get a long blade of grass up her nose. It caused all kinds of problems, but not bleeding. Constant sneezing and breathing problems.

Sometimes there can be a tumour up higher in the nose that is not readily visible.
Has the vet used a scope to check up there?
It's commonly done with horses because of their long nasal passages.
