Hi, all--
OK, so the verapamil tanked with me. It made me pass out. Wheeeee!!! Ended up back at the cardio's office this afternoon with a call to the EP doc and an EKG.

Now, and hopefully for the last time for a LONG time, I'm starting Toprol tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I see the EP doc on Nov. 25...the study is yet to be scheduled.

I know lots of people here are on or have been on Toprol...what's it like?

Thanks again for reading!

Love, Debi (aka The Amazing PVC Girl!)

Hi Deb,

They tell me not to miss my metoprolol right now

its keeping me alive till surgery and it has been real good for

me i know they had adjusting to do when i had my endocar.

in 2006 and it made me tired till they decreased my amount

everyones different though and your doc will do whats right for

you. Good luck Deb think you will be fine now.

Hi,
I've been on Toprol since about June of 2008. Went home after my AVR in May 2008 and about 2 weeks home my heart just started running on overdrive. Saw my PCP and he prescribed. I haven't noticed any type of side effects. However if I miss my morning dose I do start to see little floating stars every once in a while. Also, don't know if this would pertain to you, but look at the thread earlier today on Toprol and being intimate.
Good Luck to you little guinea pig:D

Verapamil about did the same thing to me until the dose was cut in half. It worked very well from that point forward until my AVR when I was not put back on it.

Deb, I'm also wondering what dose your Verapamil was?
Toprol is virtually the same as Metoprolol....the Generic of Lopressor.
Take it ON TIME. I take mine on an empty stomach. And what is your dose?
