Hi there! Remember how I was waiting on this CT scan result to find out how things are progressing? Well, fortunately I seem to be responding well to the chemo as my tumour has shrunk considerably since I started the treatment. I`ve started my 3rd cicle on Friday and after the 4th they`ll do another CT scan and then I should start radiotherapy. The doctors have said that my heart`s ok considering the sitation and the reason they keep me overnight is to make sure there`s no fluid bulding up either in the lungs or heart, and luckly my kidneys are working well and I haven`t had any problems.
My mum and Bruna are away to Brazil now but it wasn`t easy to say good bye to them at the airport on Thursday. I really miss them!
Thank you for all your prayers and good wishes and please, keep them coming!
Hugs,
Debora

That is terrific news Debora! Having been through Chemo myself, I know it is not an easy thing. And it is even better to hear that your heart and lungs are holding up to everything.

So glad you posted, we have all been worrying about you.

Yay, way to go, Debrinha ! keep up the good work, and know that I too am thinking of you! An overnight stay is not a bad thing when they are doing it for your own good, sounds like they are treating you well and keeping a good watch on possible developments.

Thanks for the update. Glad to read it's going better for you; take care :) .

glad to read the positive update on your treatments, debora, keeping you in prayer for continued improvement.

Just back from the doctor`s

Just back from the doctor`s

First of all, thank you so much for being here for me and help me get through this whole thing. I went to the hospital this morning to get my blood checked before I go in for my booster on Friday and Dr. Dunn has given me more details on my progress. She basically said that the cancer on my lung has also affected many of the glands, lymph nodes, I think they`re called, and there was tumour all around the heart and mediastinum. Well, with the chemos it`s shrunk considerably and the glands too, but of course, I still have a long way to go. They want to give me 6 cicles of chemo altogether and hopefully radiotherapy too, but this still has to be discussed with the cardio when the time comes. Let`s just keep on praying that my heart can tolarate it all as I really need this cancer out of the way in order to have heart surgery. The doctor also said that there`s this drug that`s been working great in the treatment of lung cancer in women who have never smoked so they`ll be considering that for me too at some point.
For the time being I`ll try and live life as best as I can in the hope that everything will be ok in the end and I can get some of my health back. The care I`ve been receiving is second to none and all the medical staff has been really competent and caring.
Hugs,
Debora

I'm late to this thread, Debora, but I am thrilled to hear the chemo is working and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
