Bob loves Starbucks, but it's too bitter for me!
 
PS.....get yourself some C-FON (Chock Full O' Nuts) and a $10 Proctor Silex drip coffee maker.....perfect every time.....and being a member of an elite group of coffee consumers you can take that to the bank:D
 
We have finally settled on Lavasa Espresso, which comes over the internet. We grind it and run it through our French Press. I have had a lot of coffee, but nothing ever beat Lavasa as far as I am concerned.
 
We love Starbucks coffee! Should've know you had good coffee taste Marguerite. We usually grind Verona at home every morning (half regular beans/half decaf beans). We also like their new one, Pike's Place; very good.

I'll drink other coffee, but if I can have Starbucks, that's all she wrote. ;):D

it's an old Sears building.

French Press coffee very good, too messy for me. I like the filters, brown ones (no bleach) that you can toss with each brewing.

I've been getting Folgers for a long time now, but somehow, it's been tasting different lately.


I wonder if it's your water!! I know that I used to take tea bags back east to my mothers to brew my favorites and with her east coast water, they tasted quite different (awful, actually). I wonder if they've added something new to your water supply which could throw off the taste. Just a thought.

But if I am out and about, Dunkin Donut's coffee is the one for me....Starbucks and Tom Horton's coffee is too strong for me....Harrybaby:D:D:D
 
The water is an important ingredient. Everybody loves our coffee, and I know a big part of that is the natural spring up the canyon wall--this is where we get all our water, and it doesn't come any better as far as I'm concerned.
 
There is agreat brand that I've been getting lately called San Marco Coffee
and they have about a 2 foot long list of flavors like 'Death by Chocolate',
'Kentucky Bourbon' ,'Orgiastic Almond' , and all the popular flavored and
non- flavored. My mom and I have been ordering it online together since
she is the true coffee connoisseur, I know more about herbs and teas.
Also , for those who dont want too much caffeine, I find the 1/2 caffeinated
and 1/2 decaf to be a good option.
 
Starbucks Gold Coast Blend Hands down my #1.

Starbucks Christmas Blend (seasonally of course) is #2.

Sorry, just can't do the grocery store pre-ground stuff. I love my fresh beans.

I like Pike Place but I'm tired of it (with all due respect Marguerite). That's all the Starbucks around here brew these days and it's growing old.... every morning, that's all they have...

This past week I've been drinking some locally roasted beans in a blend called "Velvet Soul" - yummmmy! I love finding a small, local place with some new tasty blend. I've been here on vacation in coastal Delaware this week and I've really been enjoying the taste of this coffee.

COMMUNITY DARK ROAST is the family favorite for us. Everybody from my 2 year old niece Hannah on up to my 87 year old grandmother drinks it.
Not decaf ever!

Decaf coffee is very bad for you! The process used todecaffenate coffee causes a chemical change that causes the coffee to become very bad for you! it elevates your triglycerides, and lipids to a point that this far out weighs any lack of heart rate elevation with the decaf coffee.

This was discovered in a study conducted by THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.

This is a fact. I have well water as my own water system. I would not drink that water nor give it to my cat to drink. We go and fill 1 gallon jugs with purified water at the store. We once had a spring water house down by the McKinley monument, but they went and sealed it off and replaced it with city water. :mad:

Do you believe that filtered water is safer (tastier) bottled spring waters. I doublefilter my N.Y. water by having a Purfilter on the tap and then use a Brita magnum pitcher. I know that it supposedly filters out the metals along with certain microbes,but I dont know if I trust the spring waters to be what they say they are....:confused:
 
You have a point. In my case I can (and do) walk about 1/2 mile up the canyon wall and look at the spring that supplies our water. For good measure, I am one of the volunteer directors of our village water board and personally know everybody that touches that spring.

That is good info. I remember hearing that processes are bad, but not what they actually do that IS bad! I know that there are processes to decaffinate that are not troublesome. I'll look into that. I thought my high triglycerides were from all the Odwalla fresh squeezed orange juice that I drink. :rolleyes: May be time to cut back on both. Thank you for that reminder.

I like Community's coffees too. Used to buy the hotel blend a lot or the dark roast.
We fix coffee only on weekends, so I buy coffee & grind it at a Central Market store near downtown Fort Worth. Usually buy French roast or columbian supremo.

Hey I'm a Brit. ;) Tea please. :p :D English Breakfast milk no sugar in the morning, black Darjeeling throughout the day.
My former parents-in-law are New Englanders and my MIL taught me to appreciate a good cup of tea.
I like Afternoon Darjeeling by Taylors of Harrogate -- actually I like most of Taylors' teas. Stumbled onto that brand at Cardullo's in Cambridge MA, near Harvard.
Cardullo's website says it's the largest tea merchant in the northeast part of the U.S. It has teas from all over the world -- several hundred brands & varieties.
 
We alternate between ChockFull O'Nuts and Dunkin Donuts ( both decaf) I buy Starbucks when my kids are here and make two pots- one for them and one for us as we can't take it that strong.
 
Just back from our local coffeehouse -- Mill Mountain Coffee -- and enjoying the last sips of the house blend. Coffee from there is as good as I've come across anywhere, including the various DC haunts when I lived there.

Lately I have been trying to brew some of my own in a coffeemaker DW got me for Father's Day. I agree with Dennis that water makes a big difference. We are on some private water system out in the boonies, and it is heavily treated to meet (hopefully) EPA standards. Tastes terrible. When I brew my own, I use bottled spring water (usually Deer Park). Brand of coffee I've used is Folger's.

However, the coffee I brew never tastes as good as that at the coffeehouse, either Mill Mountain or Starbucks, so I spurge often. I don't smoke and drink little alcohol so I figure this is my allowed indulgence. :)

I think anything prepared by someone else is always better?.I love to sit and have a cut of coffee with my friends?.might ask what kind of coffee it is and get told Maxwell House or Folgers?.the setting and company make all the difference to me??.My DW can make a simple tossed salad and it is so much better that if I had made it??..:confused:
