Time to hop on those scales and report in...face the music....plead the fifth or just tell the Chimp to mind his own monkey business.....From last weeks posts it appears we will have some great downward movement....It is a good thing we are scattered around the globe.....I would hate to think all this weight loss would cause a shift in the axis:D:p......We are going into the summer months and that should make it easier...it will for me....I seem to have more resolve in the summer...maybe because I can't hide my little Chimp belly under a sweater:rolleyes:.....Here's to a great week of losing and laughter:D:D

Hey, It's only Thursday. Don't I have another day to
lose that pound I gained last week?

It is Thursday isn't it?

Oh No ! What's today? Did I lose a day?

Thursday where are you? Help!

Jack: No sweat. It is Friday in Australia, so The Chimp starts the Throw Downing early for our fine Aussie contingent. It is still Thursday here in the USofA. We have another day.:D The Throw Down is a worldwide phenomenon....:)

Well, Superbob's cute little therapist kicked his butt in his first full knee therapy session today. First, the heat, then all sorts of contortions/exercise, then stationary bike (she says I can start doing mine at home for 5-10 minutes, with no resistance) and then the tingly ice in a darkened room for 15 minutes. Ummmmm. :p

Musta burned a few calories. The PT was sweet as can be but near end of session she let drop the comment, "Has anyone ever talked to you about a total knee replacement?" Guess that was a hint as to her thoughts after listening to the Man of Steel's knee go "snap, crackle, pop" for a whole hour and watching him grimace and pretend to smile. :p

Oh well, Superbob is not quitting. Ever onward! :)

cute and little...just to lure you in....sounds like she might be on the kickback list for the local orthopedic surgeon:eek::rolleyes:

OK, I weighed this morning and I was actually down a lb. My weight is 175 lbs and although that is still an awful lot it is lower than when I joined in with the throwdown and a little less than when I rejoined.:)

The good news is that I'm off crutches and no longer using a cane either. The MRI showed "Marked tendinosis, high-grade partial tear involving the tibialis posterior, 2cm above the talus to the level of the tip of the medial malleolus." It mentions other things like prominent fluid and marked thickening and increased signal but the fact is that the swelling has gone way down and I can tolerate this for a while. I would like to delay surgery until after our church kid's camp this July. My surgeon said if/when it gets like last week he can inject it with steroids to get me by for a while longer. So, I'm again feeling that I need to work at taking off those extra pounds no matter how inconvenient it is at present. Truthfully, I can't ever remember a time when loosing weight was convenient.

I hope everyone has a good healthy week.

Hi Betty?.I just want to echo what SuperBob said?..:DWAY TO GO!!!!:D....I?m glad you are off the crutches and cane and hope you continue to heal?.now don?t over do it?remember, baby steps:)

Hoping it's all down hill for you now. You have to stop developing these close relationships with doctors!;)

1 pound sounds great to me right about now! Good job.

Well, I've done pretty well in the eating department this week, but my hubby's about to ruin it all! It's his turn to cook tonight and he's decided to make Brats cooked in beer and salsa! So any weight I've gained tomorrow (and I'm sure there will be a gain) can all be attributed to sodium. ;) Or it could be the hormones I'm taking to test my ovarian reserve before we get started on the baby making (and get your head out of the gutter, we're using a surrogate!). :D Hey, I'll take any excuse I can get!

Weigh before Brats and post that:D......and when have you ever known a ThrowDowner to have her/his head in the gutter:rolleyes::p

Weigh before Brats and post that:D

Only problem with that is that I have my "day on my feet" weight to contend with. I always weigh less first thing in the morning than I do at the end of a work day.

Uh... no comment. ;)

One loyal Aussi-throw-downer checking in for roll-call :D...no change on the scales.....I must be getting closer to doing some exercise :p tommorrow will come eventually!:D

I hope you all had a great week everyone.

PS....I started Glucosamine this week (and hubby too for his knee)...we will report back on our progress in 2 weeks

A little info from Wikipedia about the inedible beet:

The Romans used beetroot as a treatment for fevers and constipation, amongst other ailments. Apicius in De re coquinaria gives five recipes for soups to be given as a laxative, three of which feature the root of beet.[4] Hippocrates advocated the use of beet leaves as binding for wounds.

Since Roman times, beetroot juice has been considered an aphrodisiac. It is a rich source of the mineral boron, which plays an important role in the production of human sex hormones. Field Marshal Montgomery is reputed to have exhorted his troops to 'take favours in the beetroot fields', a euphemism for visiting prostitutes.[5]. From the Middle Ages, beetroot was used as a treatment for a variety of conditions, especially illnesses relating to digestion and the blood. Platina recommended taking beetroot with garlic to nullify the effects of 'garlic-breath'.

No wonder The Chimp loves beets -- they act like prunes and are also an aid in monkeying around! :p

I have taken this quote from another thread....never done that before....I hope it isn't a breach of VR.com protical:p....THANK YOU SUPERBOB:D......As CEO I have named the "BEET" the official vegetable of the ThrowDown:D....

Got to stop going up before we can go down:D....Good job Ton!!!!:):)

I had intended to weigh this morning... I even remembered when I first got up, but usually wait until I've finished part of my morning ritual before stepping on the scale. I think I have some idea that standing at the sink for 15-20 minutes will shed a few extra pounds. ;)

But I put on my clothes and painted my toe nails before I remembered again that I needed to weigh! I know, lame excuse, but it's true. I'll try to weigh in tomorrow. Of course, yesterday morning the scale said 133... Maybe I should stick with that? ;)

I stayed the same, according to WW weigh-in Wednesday, so I'm not complaining.

I'm going to work hard at losing a few more pounds before we leave for a week along the Alabama Coast. If beets :(:( are our designated Weigh-In food, I won't have a problem--ugh!!! :p

So far, it sounds as though everyone has done well considering we're weighing after a holiday week-end.:)
