A co-worker has been diagnosed with NASH, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. (Not Hepatitis A, B or C, or alcoholic hepatitis).

Does anyone have any good links to websites for patients like Richard? He gave me a copy of his liver biopsy report, and I've given him the links to the American Liver Foundation and the Cleveland Clinic.

Surely there's a support group for folks like him and a way to decipher the diagnosis on the pathology report. Has been told no alcohol, to lose weight and exercise.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about that. Joe had cardiac cirrhosis actually from his CHF which backed up a lot in his abdomen, liver and spleen, causing scar tissue. I know it's not the same thing, but cirrhosis and liver problems can come from many things, not just alcohol related.

Liver problems can be very difficult. I hope your co-worker adheres to the guidelines set out for him.

Liver failure was present at the time of Joe's passing along with several other failures. It was just one of the many factors in his death.

You don't realize just how important your liver is until it doesn't function well.
