Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for the best wishes on my Birthday.
I am in Germany, and today my wife has come over to join me. A very special Birthday indeed!
We are going to take vacation next week, and go to Italy. Our plan is to visit Venice, Florence, and Amalfi. I'll take some pictures and gladly share them when I get back.
btw.. just an update on my mom. She was placed back in the hospital due to 4 or 5 issues with her discs in her lower back. Seems there has been some degeneration going on for some time, and they just collapsed. She is in a lot of pain, and they cannot operate until she gains strength from having her heart fixed. So, dad is not talking with the heart surgeon in Boston, and making arrangements for her surgery to have both valves replaced. It sure has been a rough time for her lately. I am hoping and praying that she can make it through all this.
He mentioned that she will be going to Boston Medical Ctr and that a Dr. Hunter is the surgeon. I have not had a chance to look further into this yet.
Thank you all again it was a nice surprise to enter the site and see the post. It is now 5:50 PM here on the 3rd of May, and I am leaving work to go to the hotel until tomorrow.

Regarding your mom's back problems, it sounds very similar to what my husband's father has dealt with. A neurosurgeon here in town uses a fairly new procedure to reconstruct the discs without the necessity of major back surgery.
His dad has had many health issues during his lifetime, including OHS, but tolerates this procedure very well.In addition, he says it provides almost instantaneous relief with minimal post-surgery therapy.
Please send me a PM if you'd like the name of his surgeon.
