to everyone and hope you have a great New Year. Some of our kids and grandkids will be here at noon and the rest will be her at 4:00. It's nice not to have to get up so early and hurry around. We'll open presents at 4:00 and eat after that. The weather here in Joplin, MO is cloudy and very cold.

Love to all!:) :) :)

Cloudy here as well, and 40's.

We had the children and granddaughter over last night, and will be heading out to see Pat's family in a couple of hours. We babysit tomorrow, as we and the child care center have off, and my son and his SO have to work.

Merry Christmas, Glenda.

Warmest Christmas greetings to all my vr.com friends!
Sending special prayers out for those facing difficult times during this holiday season.

Teresa had already baked two pies and the third one was in the oven when I got up We had coffee and exchanged gifts (I gave her a skill saw so she can cut down those saplings that she's been doing by hand - what fun we had about it). She's off to the church serving on two of the shifts for dinner. She'll be back, our dinner will be finished cooking, the grand and great grand children will be along around 3 and we start all over again. Resa will be dragging by 4 - or maybe she's already dragging, but she is enjoying it all. I am, too.

We are so blessed. Hope you are, too.

3pm here. Just taking a break from the kitchen while my kids help clean up my prep work. We thought we'd have to delay our holiday since our daughter was stuck in the Denver snowstorm, but some fancy phonecalls, trading miles and good timing got her home in time for our annual dinner out on Christmas Eve. Everyone was very tired so we slept in really late today. Dinner won't go in for another hour or so (leg of lamb studded with anchovies and garlic....tastes better than it sounds and the house just smells wonderful!!)

Very wet and rainy last night, misty today. Perfect book reading and movie watching weather.....we're just being a lazy family. It's wonderful. All home from college, the kids look and sound great. I am so blessed to be here!!!

Wishing you all a lovely holiday! Cheers to all those who join me in their first holiday after surgery!! It is a remarkable feeling in so many ways. Thanks to all who've had this feeling already......you "old-timers" keep us grounded.

Best wishes to all!!! And Happy New Year!!

:D Marguerite

We had our Christmas dinner last night-- on Christmas Eve. It's the first time in my life that I had Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, but I liked it. Today has been very low-keyed and relaxed.
I haven't said much about it on VR, but our oldest son left for the Mideast last Wednesday. I hoped to hear from him today, but no word.
However, I did have word from my sister Annie that once again she is pregnant. She is 42, and just barely survived her first pregnancy two years ago. I am justifiably concerned, but there's little I can do except pray that all goes well.
We have had rain all day, and the forecast is a chance of snow by morning. I hope so!
Merry Christmas Glenda, Bob, Andrew's Mom, Ann, Bonnie, Marguerite and all other VR members. And speaking of Bonnie, here's her family's Christmas picture ( I took the hint)!:)

Merry Christmas From The Lowell Clan...LOL

Merry Christmas From The Lowell Clan...LOL

Hi All,

Well, it's 9:15pm here in NH and we had a wonderful day. I got up at 8:30am and got the Turkey in the oven at 9am and it was done at 12:30pm-not bad for a 20lb turkey....We lucked out because my little brother and my niece, Eliza came over to visit and dinner got done just in time for us to share dinner together, and send a plate over to my sister in law who had to work-(A nurse's work is NEVER done) anyway, we had a wonderful visit and took time to remember those who are no longer with us and I took alot of pictures of Eliza in her cute little Christmas dress.... I am posting a of pic that I took today and one from Thanksgiving with my family. Merry Christmas...Harrybaby and The Lowell Family:D :D :D

P.S. I am sorry the pics are so big...I thought I had them resized small enough....Harrybaby

Glenda,

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Mary,

Thoughts/prayers coming your way....

The usual for us ... up about 9a ... Cinnabons for breakfast, then open immediate family gifts ... then Mom's sis and her family over for gifts and dinner. Then, after they left, we went over to my sister/bro-in-law's place to watch "Cars" (What else?!?!?!).

Can hardly believe Christmas is over.....

And, of course, thoughts/prayers that each of us experiences peace and happiness this season.

A Belated Merry Christmas + Happy Holidays

A Belated Merry Christmas + Happy Holidays

Your dear bunch! I don't even have time to be writing this, but couldn't resist after reading Mary's post. I got my gift early, my nephew sat with me on Thanksgiving after 2 tours in Iraq. Mary, please thank your son for me, or if you want to share his email, I'd love to write him myself. I really apreciate his service! My love to all my VR brothers and sisters, and a special hug to dear wonderful Nancy. Brian
