Well kids, had my 6 month today. Kidneys are taking a real beating, filling up with water, legs larger then I care to mention, blood pressure still on the weak side of life. Cardio wants to decrease my Diovan HCT in the hopes of gaining some blood pressure and causing the kidneys to work more efficiently and to take away some of the load they're carrying now. He won't order a CT to check on my aneurysm until we get this kidney situation worked out. He's afraid that the contrast dye will screw me up for life. He said if the kidney deal doesn't resolve doing this, he'll order an echo instead. We all know how good echo results are. Now I'll take half of the Diovan HCT that I did and retest the blood in 4 weeks and we'll see where we go from there. I ain't happy.

hi ross,
sorry to hear about all that. i know you must be upset about those results.
why not wait and see if this reduction in diovan does a little bit of a trick and helps out.
would you please let us know how it's going once you do that? how long before you see results?
please know that we are thinking of you and praying for you and your family on this holiday. God knows you have had more than your share of hardships.
wishing for the best. be well,
sylvia

Ross you are very dear to my heart and never far from my mind. I hate hearing this. At least you told us, tho. So now we will help you worry some. and ask the Master for a little more help.

You never once mentioned your stress level and I bet that's not a ball either.

Stress? Nothing the now prescribed Ativan won't handle. Yes I pretty frazzled. I made it clearly known that now that this annie has been found, I will have no rest until it's not a issue. All it took was the first one to try to kill me to make me jump like a monkey this time.

It'll take 4 weeks for this Diovan thing to straighten around, so no BMP or BNP until then. My vein likes that at least!

Sending our prayers, Ross. It's time for things to turn around for you and yours in this New Year. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a much, much better 2007!

Ross, sorry you visit wasn't more positive. You sure don't want that dye messing up what kidney function you have left since dialysis isn't an easy way to go. I keep thinking of Nancy's Joe and really really don't want you to be going through some of battles he has recently gone through. I understand how your doc wants to increase the B/P to increase renal perfusion and hopefully take care of some of that extra workload (fluid) your heart is contending with. We just don't want the B/P too high to stress the aneurysm either. You are just in a tough place, Ross. The plan he laid out makes sense and I really hope it works. Ativan sounds pretty good too:) .

At least the doc has a plan of attack. You remain in my prayers.

Well kids...I ain't happy.

No wonder. I'm not either, to read that news. I hope the Doc's treatment helps.

Next time you see him, tell him that he would "taste crunchy with ketchup" and he'd better fix you up good since about a few hundred of your closest friends are insisting on it...

Ross,

I am very sorry about your latest news. I cannot imagine the emotions you are having right now. You and your family will be in and remain in my prayers.

Karl

Ross -

I have come out of VR.com abstinence to tell you that I am thinking of you and praying for you. Hang in there - you are a tough cookie and have come through harder times. Trust your doc - I think the new med adjustment will work wonders. You're the best and there are a lot of people here who care about you very much!

You are amazing to have come this far without the help of Ativan or similar, you are one strong bloke...I hope it eases your mind a little and allows you some rest from stress.

as always , you are in my prayers

Ross, we're sorry to hear about this latest checkup. Can't add anything to what has already been said except we'll be praying that the prescribed plan of action is a success. God bless.
