Not sure if I'm posting in the correct forum but here goes.

Anyone familiar with the da Vinci robotic procedure. LGMC in Lafayette, La is using it for different surgeries including mitral valve repair and mitral valve replacement according to the web site. The surgeon is Dr Bruce Jones.

It appears I wouldn't qualify anyway because I need aortic valve replacement as well as MVRepair.

Any comments?

Marie, at the top of the thread, click on search and put DaVinci in as the query. It has been discussed here before and you will find quite a few threads.

At the Montreal Heart Institute, they started using it in the spring of 2006. Apparently, what's really good about it is that for every millimeter that the instruments move, the surgeon's hand move's a centimeter, so it is much easier to avoid mistakes because of the hand's trembling or something like that.
