    Food & Supplement Inquiry ...

I think the last time I posted here was something about a green powder. I did not get that powder tho' I am considering a whole food one with nutrients for my vitamin intake. Plus, with a home test meter now I can keep a closer watch. I would still be eating along with the powder, it was just...

finally i have a home test device ...

Protimenow : On my second stick today I got enough blood to sample, had to squeeze the finger a bit. I do like the pen type lancets such as Softclix that I tried today. And yes, I am beginning to get the hang of this.

finally i have a home test device ...

Thank you Bina ! At first I admit I thought it was going to hurt sticking myself. Well, I have tried it out and surprisingly it did not hurt when I did it. I did have to do it twice though because the first time I could get enough sample to test. The second time I used a different depth setting...

finally i have a home test device ...

I just realized I may have placed the below post in the Anti-Coagulation instead of here ... I finally am a new owner of a CoaguChek XS as I read that was the latest model. It is so light and small. It came with 18 test strips so I am good for awhile. Also some capillary tubes. Is it weird...

Hi there : I finally am a new owner of a CoaguChek XS as I read that was the latest model. It is so light and small. It came with 18 test strips so I am good for awhile. Also some capillary tubes. Is it weird that I am excited. It'll be better than going to the hospital lab that is quite a...

    Help Please

Hello kind folks ... I am back. I know I kinda dropped off and I apologize. I am currently underweight and have atrophy issues that I am attempting to reverse. Anyway, with that said I use Brown Rice Protein Powder. Though, my concern is Vitamin K ... my whole life I was told to avoid it...

    Oral Surgeon

I am out of surgery, thank God no stroke. Was not butchered. Was just a bit nervous. I think the question you all may be wondering is did I stop the warfarin ? The answer is on Saturday, I took my normal dosage. Sunday and Monday half the dosage and Tuesday no dosage.

Yeah ... I am not so sure how true the 10 minutes actually is. Wowzers, that was a long time Ross. As long as all goes well; I should be back here posting. I am hoping I don't get butchered.

    Oral Surgeon

Shakes head at those that recommend coming off blood thinners. It certainly does not comfort the patients. It is more of a liability thing for the professionals than for the patient. In my opinion it should be more of a safety thing for all involved. A stroke can be a lot harder to come back...

    Tooth extraction....

@Ross yes it is quite disturbing , I wish all of them were up to date on matters ... and yes, that is a consideration I almost imagine the shock on his face ha ha On the plus side, I am supposed to be knocked out for the procedure. The oral surgeon said it shouldn't take him more than ten minutes.

    Tooth extraction....

This thread has been quite informative. Glad there is a place to discuss topics like these. Sorry about the nervousness Woodbutcher though glad to hear how everything has worked out. I get my wisdom tooth out/half another tooth out on the 19th.

    Oral Surgeon

@Ross thank you again, I will check out the information you have provided. It just doesn't make sense to risk a stroke. @olefin Definitely too long. I know that my INR stays below 4.0 ... it is not even 3.5. That is good to hear on how it all worked out.

    Oral Surgeon

Hi there Ross, Thank you for responding. My apologies on the delay, had to go get something to eat. There hasn't been any mention of Lovenox. In the beginning thought they were going to use Heparin. The valve involved is the mitral valve, mechanic St. Jude one.

    Oral Surgeon

Tomorrow I am supposed to go off Warfarin Sodium for a wisdom tooth/rotten half tooth by wisdom tooth removal which will be on the 19th of this month. Needless to say, I do not want to stroke out. My cardiologist did not act like he would ever agree to such awhile back. Though, suddenly he and...
