    Metoprolol

Hi, It's been awhile since I last posted. I come and lurk around, read the posts. I just retired after 35 years with my company. They had a buy out I couldn't turn down, that and my doctor wants me out. I came to the point where a small job became to much. I'm a maintenance mechanic working in...

After having a valve replacement how often do you see your cardiologist?

For me it's been about once a year with an echo every 2 years. They found my ascending aortic aneurysm has increased on the last echo, so now he wants to see me every year with an echo.

Wish I would have choose tissue valve instead of mechanical

I have thought of that myself. But it is what it is. I home test and have found i'm more in range. There is a page on facebook for people on coumadin. To be honest, I never had the problems some of them have?? Hang in there, hope all works out for you.

    Beta blockers

My Doctor put me Metoprolol 25mg. Since then my resting heart rate is in the high 40's. I feel tired after a small amount of work. I really don't know what to make of it. Do I ask to speak with him about it? Who knows... And the beat goes on...

    Switching from Warfarin to Coumadin

I've only taken warfarin for the last 6 years. My INR was all over the place. They would increase then decrease my dose. I think I've read most of the posts on home testing and thought they "over did" the dosing. Since I've been home testing I have been in range with just a little movement up...

    Tissue Quality

I just wanted to say good luck to ya. I had my aortic valve replaced when I was 50. I wasn't told, and didn't have the time to look if there was an option other then mechanical. If I was told, I was in another world trying to understand what happened to me. lol I had a check up at work, and they...

    Cardiologist Against INR Meters

I got the coaguchek xs in Sept of 2013. I've been in range everytime. I test every 2 weeks. I haven't checked with a lab yet, don't think I have to. My cardio would not let me home test as they have a clinic. Well to bad. My PCP said ok and he is dosing me. I pretty much eat the same foods...

    Ross Young

I haven't been on to much lately. This is the first I heard of Ross passing. I feel very sad. He seemed to be that kind of person who you knew would help you if he could.

    CoaguChek® XS system

Thanks to whoever posted the url. I love the meter. It's easy to use and I have the feeling i'm in a little control of my inr. Not having to go to the clinic is nice to! :) My first test was 1.9. No big deal because I did eat a lot of "greens" the night before. My Doctor put me on a new range...

    CoaguChek® XS system

Hello, I have a meter!! It's the CoaguChek® XS system. This was the only company my insurance would take. It took me 4 months to find one they covered. The nurse came to my house to show me how it works. Funny, she was a nurse from the clinic I went to. She moved to another department, but said...
