Article about yoga and heart health

I'm trying to dedicate myself to a more consistent routine, and I've adapted the stretching and deep breathing into my routine. The stretching helps quite a bit. I wish I had someone to teach me.. Good luck to you Halley.

    6 Months post op

I've been doing push ups on my fist, sets of 25, and it feels great. If only work would slow down, so I could get to the gym.. Really my focus is on my core, as I guess I'm still a bit scared to go all out unless someone is there to baby sit me.. Just being honest.

    Collateral damage?

After my first OHS my shoulder hurt like hell, for a long time, and didn't completely go away for about 4-6 months. My second, I did the therapy, and did more stretching. That seemed to make things much better and though my back get me, my shoulders have been fine after the first month. I think...

    6 Months post op

It's been 6 months since my second MVR. Just wanted to report, that all is well, and I am still alive.. No real issues, a few small things, but in general, I've been working a lot. Dr says I can now start to workout with weights.. I'm hoping to get some shape back to my muscles.. Happy...

    Dry mouth?

I'm only using asprin, vitamin, and Temazepam (resterol, for sleep) I haul cars, so I sweat a lot, because I'm active, up and down the truck all day.. I think I am drinking enough, but might have to increase that. I seem to sweat at the least bit of effort. I'm thinking that it is the activity...

    Tell Me It Gets Better!

I believe this 100%!! You have to be aware of what's going on, but limitations are mostly in your mind.

    Dry mouth?

Might not mean anything, but since I have returned to work, my mouth had been dry, and I "think" I drink enough to replace all that I sweat. I have a physically active job. I can suck on a candy to give a temp fix.. Am I dehydrated, or maybe a sign of something else going on? It's not major...

I need a great Cardiologist in the Chicago area:

I'm 3 months post op, for my 2nd MVR. I'm a car hauler/truck driver, working in the entire Chicago area, but my terminal is in the Aurora/Napperville area. I spend about 70% of my time in the Chicago area, and think it might be wise to have a 2nd Dr there. I need someone who is willing to...

    Starting Cardiac Rehabilitation

I looked at it as a "supervised workout", and did it for a month. I'm glad I did it, because I think I pushed myself further, because off the comfort of being monitored. Take baby steps, and moderate your progress, you will do fine. Don't be scared to push yourself, when you feel it's...

    My first 5K this Saturday

So by Triathlon, do you mean run, cycle, swim? I think on the cycling, you'll soon find that it's mental, pushing yourself beyond the pain. You got me thinking now.. Lol..

    My first 5K this Saturday

Great to see you out and active. Keep training, and maybe we can run the Chicago, or NY marathon someday.. In re the shoe inserts, I just switched to the Dr S gel sports one, for my work shoes, and my feet feel much better, and my back pain has been much better..

    Heart Rate Post-Op

I'm the same way that you are, Type "A", always something to do, and never enough time to do it in.. Rushing about, etc.. The rates that you quote, are the same as mine have been. I am 2 1/2 months post op.. At rest, I was high 70's, and just getting up to walk to the kitchen, I was up into the...
