    Weird feelings

@mick1807 yes exactly as you explain. Had my 2nd open heart surgery in 2010 and had these moments ever since. Had a 3rd surgery in 2022 and I think they have gotten worse again. I got ct scans and eeg done as they were worried I was having TIA's, all was good on that end so it was all kind of...

New member intro! Aorta replacement scheduled for Oct 9

Well I was having a lovely Sunday until I watched this 😂😂. It's crazy to see. The people who do these surgeries are unbelievable. It's hard to believe they do something like this and then just head home at the end of the day like the rest of us. Amazing people

What amount of alcohol do people notice a change in their INR

Thanks for the replys. No worry at all just more curious to see if many people notice the inr change. They make out like you can never touch a drink again. From what I'm gathering it's just a case of not going to heavy anymore, but it's nice to know a few drinks is no problem. It was getting...

What amount of alcohol do people notice a change in their INR

Hi, I'm just wondering at what stage if any do people notice alcohol affects their INR. I've been on Warfarin a year now and have been hesitant to drink. I've only drank 3 times since and have noticed no change to my INR. First two times were only maybe 2 or 3 pints but last week I was at a...

    Random bruising on stomach

No watch or anything but I wouldn't rule out falling asleep on something. I'm sure it's nothing to serious but just being cautious with it being new. Up until now I hadn't had any effects from warfarin, INR has been continuously in range and not bruising or prolonged bleeding.

    Random bruising on stomach

Fairly average build but definitely more belly fat than six pack 😂. INR was 2.9 today, I've booked in with my doctor tomorrow just to be sure . Seems odd going to a doctor over a bruise but still early days taking warfarin so still fairly new Thanks for the reply

    Random bruising on stomach

Hi, Been on Warfarin about 10 months now. No issues or side effects of brusing until about 2 weeks ago I spotted a bruise on my stomach without any trauma to that area. Over the last two weeks it has got worse in colour and is now a dark purple, size has stayed the same (about the size of a...

    Unusually LOUD heartbeat

I had the same surgery as you and I can't believe how loud it is. I constantly have to have a conversation where someone stops and looks around the room and says"sshhhh can you hear that". Then I've to tell them it's my heart and it's OK......I think 😂

34 Year old man awaiting Aortic valve replacement / repair

No problem, happy to help. I was the same as you. I talked with a cardiologist in Canada and they recommended mechanical, I wasn't convinced so I talked with my cardiologist in Ireland and he recommended the same. I said to him "I thought you said I wouldn't be getting a mechanical till I was...

34 Year old man awaiting Aortic valve replacement / repair

I'm just out of a similar situation to yourself(surgery in Oct 2022). I'm Irish 31 and I was living in vancouver. I chose to come home and get it from the same surgeon who I got a ross procedure from in 2010. I ended up needing surgery 12 years on from the ross because of an aneurysm. Valves...

Warfarin or not has it ever been "just one" haha, but yeah that would be good 👍 @TomM I was surprised to see a few Irish here to but it's nice to see. It really is true that for such a small country we are everywhere 😂

33 Year Old Male, Recent Aortic Valve Replacement (Dec 2022)

Yeah I'm doing good, this was my third surgery. One was when I was just a few months old so this is only the second one I remember. Recovery this time at 30 v when I was 18 was much harder 😂. I breezed through the one at 18 but this one was a lot tougher mentally. I'm back working now and...
